Frank Yallop, the Los Angeles Galaxy head coach, has told his players they have to deal with the absence of the injured David Beckham.
Beckham is expected to sit out tonight's SuperLiga clash with Mexican side Pachuca at the Home Depot Center in California as he continues to struggle with a persistent ankle injury which limited his Galaxy debut to 12 minutes against Chelsea on Saturday.
The former England captain sat out training yesterday to continue to receive treatment on a ankle ligament injury sustained playing for Real Madrid last month. But Yallop expects him to be fit to face Mexican giants Chivas Guadalajara on Saturday.
"We obviously expected David to come here and play these games starting with the Chelsea game but these things happen," Yallop said.
"He could have got injured in training last week and still been in the same situation so we've got to deal with it, we've got to soldier on and make sure that we put in some good performances in these games, because they are important.
"Pachuca and Chivas are two very good teams and they're tough to beat in any game.
"But the team are in good spirits, we were all encouraged by the performance against Chelsea but, as I said to the players, we've lost our last three games. We've got to pick ourselves up and get a result.
"Hopefully we can get a good result but it will be tough."
