Seville have turned down two fresh bids for defender Daniel Alves, club president Jose Maria del Nido has revealed.
The 24-year-old Alves has been the centre of much transfer speculation this summer, with both Chelsea and Real Madrid closely linked with a move for the Brazilian full-back.
Chelsea reportedly had a £21.5 million offer for Alves turned down last week, with the Spanish media suggesting that Seville want at least £27m for the player.
Del Nido did not reveal which clubs had made the latest offers. "We have rejected in the last few hours two new offers which do not meet our requirements," he said.
Alves has indicated that he would like to move to England and was left out of the Champions League third round qualifying tie with AEK Athens last week at his request.
Chelsea had initially hoped that allowing Khalid Boulahrouz to join the Spaniards on loan for a season would count in their favour, but Seville have dug in and the asking price has risen in the past week.
However, Juande Ramos, the Seville coach, has appeared resigned to the departure of one of his key players. "It's true that Daniel has an important role in this team, especially in our attacking play," he said. "It's also true that two teams like Madrid and Chelsea are trying to acquire his services. We will try to overcome his absence with another player who will show the same ambition as him."
