Paul Robinson, the Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper, has handed in a transfer request but has been told he will have to wait until the summer before he can leave White Hart Lane.
Robinson, 28, has been left out of the side for the last four games in favour of Radek Cerny and there were reports that he told the club he wanted a move after being dropped for the first leg against Arsenal two weeks ago. (Evening Standard)
Tottenham are also in talks to sign Hertha Berlin full-back Gilberto. The Brazil international, who was also linked with Manchester United last week, is out of contract at the end of the season and Hertha want the 31-year-old to sign an extension.
A fee of £2.5million has been mooted for Gilberto, who joined Hertha in 2004 and has been a Bundesliga regular. Spurs are currently short on options at left-back, with Gareth Bale and Benoit Assou-Ekotto both out with long-term injuries.
South Korean defender Lee Young-pyo is Juande Ramos' first choice, but may soon face competition for his place from Gilberto. (Sky Sports News)

Blackburn Rovers have offered a loan deal to Valeri Domovchiyski, the Bulgarian striker, until the end of the season. The 21-year-old Levski Sofia player has been on trial at Blackburn with a view to signing him permanently in the summer if he makes the grade. (PA)
Kevin Keegan, the Newcastle United manager has made Nicky Shorey, the Reading left back his number one target. The England defender has only 18 months left on his contract and is unlikely to sign a new deal at the Madejski. (The Independent)
Keegan is ready with an audacious bid to sign Micah Richards from Manchester City and out-of-favour Bayern Munich centre half Daniel Van Buyten. Shaun Wright-Phillips, Wayne Bridge, David Bentley and Wes Brown are also on his wish list. (The Guardian)
