Darlington, who have won six games in succession, could be without Joey Hutchinson, who will need a test on a hamstring strain, but Julian Joachim is fit again and may start in the forward line. Dennis Lawrence, Swansea’s 6ft 7in defender, is doubtful because of a neck injury. Birmingham have told Swansea that they can play the on-loan forward, Marcos Painter, who has recovered from an ankle problem.
Bury v Chester City 3pm
Andy Warrington will make his debut in goal for Bury, who have doubts over Paul Scott and Andy Bishop. Stephen Turnbull, on loan from Hartlepool United, has been refused permission to face Chester, who lose Gregg Blundell through suspension and have doubts over Glenn Cronin and Rob Marsh-Evans.
Brighton & Hove Albion v Stafford Rangers 3pm
Guy Butters, the Brighton defender, is suspended, while Adam El-Abd is missing with a calf problem. Richard Carpenter and George Santos are both back in contention. Matthew Barlow, Stafford’s on-loan forward, has received permission from Oldham Athletic to play. Their experienced forward, Neil Grayson, hopes to overcome a head injury but must undergo late tests.
Aldershot Town v Basingstoke Town 2pm
Aldershot are without Kirk Hudson and Curtis Cusano, who are cup-tied, as they seek to go one better after second-round defeats in the past three seasons. Basingstoke have no fresh injury concerns and are likely to be unchanged from the side that defeated Bedford in the FA Trophy last week.
Milton Keynes Dons v Blackpool 3pm
Scott Taylor replaces Izale McLeod, the MK Dons forward, who is suspended. Paul Butler, the on-loan defender, has been given permission to play by Leeds United. Claus Jorgensen and Gareth Farrelly, the Blackpool midfield players, are competing to stand in for Wes Hoolahan, who is suspended. Ian Evatt will have a test on an ankle injury.
Macclesfield Town v Hartlepool United 3pm
Macclesfield have lost Jonny Brain, Andrew Teague and Jimmy McNulty for most of the season with broken legs, while Dave Morley may miss out for Paul Ince’s side because of a thigh problem. James Brown, the Hartlepool forward, expects to recover from a knee strain, but Joel Porter and Michael Proctor are still out and Gary Liddle is suspended.
Barnet v Northampton Town 3pm
Barnet will again be without Giuliano Grazioli and Jason Norville, the injured forwards. Northampton, for whom Scott McGleish makes a return to his former club, will give a debut to their new loan signing, Nick Wright, after he was granted permission to play by Birmingham City.
Bristol Rovers v Bournemouth 3pm
Bristol Rovers will be without Stuart Nicholson, the on-loan forward, who misses out at the request of West Bromwich Albion, his parent club. Another forward, Richard Walker, is doubtful with an illness. The Bournemouth midfield player, Simon Gillett, is cup-tied, while Shaun Cooper may take his place in the side after recovering from a knee problem.
Hereford United v Port Vale 1pm
Simon Travis, Stuart Fleetwood and Martyn Giles are back in the Hereford squad, but two players on loan — John Eustace and Neil MacKenzie — have been refused permission to play by their respective clubs, Stoke City and Scunthorpe United. A leg injury makes Jeff Smith doubtful for Port Vale, who have lost George Pilkington through suspension.
Swindon Town v Morecambe 3pm
Michael Pook is free from suspension and has recovered from a knee injury in time to compete with Gareth Whalley for a place in the Swindon midfield. Paul Evans (knee) is still out and Fulham have refused permission for Michael Timlin, who is on loan, to play. Wayne Curtis is Morecambe’s only concern with a knee injury.
Torquay United v Leyton Orient 3pm
Mickey Evans, the Torquay forward, has decided to retire from football, so Chris McPhee could earn a starting place. Leyton Orient have injury doubts over Jabo Ibehre (knee), Justin Miller (groin) and Donny Barnard (hamstring). James Walker and Luke Guttridge, their recent loan signings, are ineligible.
Tranmere Rovers v Peterborough United 3pm
Gareth Taylor, the Tranmere forward, is a doubt with a hamstring problem while Danny Harrison serves the second leg of a three-match suspension. Jason McAteer (knee), Steve Jennings (knee) and Kevin Ellison (ankle) are all injured. Aaron McLean and Guy Branston will return to the Peterborough team after being rested in midweek.
Bristol City v Gillingham 1pm tomorrow
Jamie McCombe and Steve Brooker are likely to be fit after missing Bristol City’s Johnstone’s Paints Trophy tie in midweek. Gillingham are without the on-loan Ben Chorley, who has been denied permission to play by Milton Keynes Dons, while Brent Sancho (groin) and Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu (ankle) will need late tests.
Salisbury City v Nottingham Forest 1.10pm tomorrow
Scott Bartlett and Robbie Harbut are back in contention for Salisbury, but the defender, Jon Beswetherwick (ankle), and player-coach Tommy Widdrington (knee) are both out. Rune Pedersen is on standby to replace Paul Smith in goal for Forest. Danny Cullip and Junior Agogo face late fitness tests.
Mansfield Town v Doncaster Rovers 3pm
Mansfield are without Johnny Mullins (rib) and Stephen Dawson (back), but Richie Barker, the captain, has recovered from illness and a groin injury. Jake Buxton also returns. Sean McDaid (knee ligaments) is unavailable for Doncaster and Leeds United have refused on-loan Neil Sullivan permission to play, so Ben Smith takes over in goal.
Rushden & Diamonds v Tamworth 3pm
Rushden are unable to field Chris Plummer, the cup-tied defender, and Jon Ashton (knee) is also out, while Nicky Eyre and Andy Rigby are troubled by a virus. Joe Kendrick is expected to recover from an ankle injury and play for Tamworth, but Michael Tuohy and Dave Bampton are still out.
Scunthorpe United v Wrexham 3pm
Steve Torpey, the Scunthorpe forward, could make his first start for a month after a thigh problem, while Ian Morris and Marcus Williams are injury doubts. Juan Ugarte, the Wrexham forward, is poised to return to the squad for the first time since February after knee surgery. Neil Roberts (ankle) remains sidelined.
