Group A
CFR Cluj v Chelsea
Joe Cole has not travelled with Chelsea to Romania for Wednesday’s Champions League clash with CFR Cluj after failing to recover from a thigh injury. Cole missed the 2-0 win at Stoke over the weekend and joins Deco (thigh) and defender Ricardo Carvalho (knee) on the sidelines. The Portuguese duo are expected to be out for up to three weeks.
Ivory Coast striker Salomon Kalou is set to be involved after recovering from an ankle knock suffered against Stoke, while Didier Drogba is in line to continue his comeback from a knee injury.
Chelsea (from): Cech, Ivanovic, A Cole, Lampard, Di Santo, Drogba, Mikel, Ballack, Malouda, Sinclair, Bosingwa, Bridge, Ferreira, Kalou, Cudicini, Terry, Alex, Belletti, Anelka, Hilario.
Group D
Liverpool v PSV Eindhoven
Javier Mascherano has recovered from a calf injury and will be included in Liverpool's squad for the clash with PSV Eindhoven.
The Argentina international missed Saturday's Merseyside derby victory over Everton due to the problem, and now Rafael Benitez has a difficult choice to make over who partners Steven Gerrard in midfield.
Otherwise the Spaniard has no other injury problems as he plans for his 250th game in charge of the club. Liverpool started the group stage well with a win in Marseille, and another victory against the Dutch champions will put them in a strong position to complete qualification for the knock-out stages ahead of schedule.
Liverpool (from): Reina, Arbeloa, Carragher, Agger, Skrtel, Dossena, Aurelio, Babel, Benayoun, Gerrard, Mascherano, Alonso, Kuyt, Torres, Keane, Cavalieri, Lucas, Riera.
