Manchester City v FC Twente
Richard Dunne, the Manchester City captain, is doubtful, after suffering fluid on the knee following the defeat by Bolton Wanderers on Sunday.
Mark Hughes, the City manager, has hinted that he may may gamble by resting Robinho and instead turn to experienced forwards Benjani and Darius Vassell who should return from injury.
Michael Ball could also be back in contention after returning from an ankle problem.
McClaren's FC Twente are currently sixth in the Dutch league and despite losing 2-0 to Ajax at the weekend, Hughes refuses to take them lightly. "They are a decent team, well organised and it's going to be a good test," he said.

Racing Santander v Schalke 04
Juan Ramon Lopez Muniz, the Racing Santander coach, looks set to be without Ezequiel Garay, the highly-rated Argentinian centre-back on loan from Real Madrid. Luis Fernandez is also likely to miss out.
Schalke, dumped out of the Champions League by Athletico Madrid last month, are likely to be without defender Christian Pander who is recovering from a calf injury. Heiko Westermann should return from illness to shore up the Schalke defence.
Group D
Tottenham Hotspur v Dynamo Zagreb, 8pm
Tottenham captain Ledley King is expected to be rested. Jermaine Jenas (toe) is struggling to be fit and Jamie O'Hara is suspended, while Roman Pavlyuchenko and Vedran Corluka are cup tied for the Group D match. John Bostock, a summer signing from Crystal Palace, is in the squad and set for a place on the bench. Luka Modric is up against his old club just six months after making the £16.5million move to White Hart Lane.
Tottenham Hotspur (from): Gomes, Cesar, Hutton, Bale, Gunter, Dawson, Assou-Ekotto, Woodgate, Zokora, Bentley, Huddlestone, Jenas, Gilberto, Modric, Bostock, Parrett, Rose, McKenna, Lennon, Bent, Giovani, Campbell, Barcham.
Spartak Moscow v Udinese, 5pm
Michael Laudrup's Spartak Moscow will be without Mozart, their Brazilian midfielder, who is sidelined with a knee injury.
Pasquale Marino, the Udinese coach, is set to make changes to the side that held Genoa to a 2-2 draw at the weekend. Pepe and Fabio Quagliarella to lead Udinese's attack will lead the attack if Antonio Di Natale, the Italian international who scored the opener against Tottenham, is rested.
Group F
Ajax v MSK Zilina,
Ajax will be boosted by the return of Dennis Rommedahl, the Danish winger, who has fully recovered from a groin injury. However, Marco Van Basten, the Ajax coach, will be without Jeffrey Sarpong and Dennis Gentenaar who remain on the treatment table along with Maarten Stekelenburg, Dario Cvitanich, Ismail Aissati, Jan-Adrie van der Heijden and Mitchell Donald.
MSK Zilina are hoping that Pavol Masaryk, their top scorer, will be fit.
Slavia Prague v Aston Villa,
Villa, who are top of Group F following a victory against Ajax, will be without Stiliyan Petrov, James Milner, Marlon Harewood and Isaiah Osbourne in Prague.
Petrov and Milner are both nursing injuries following Villa's clash with Newcastle on Monday night, while Harewood and Osbourne have stayed behind due to family commitments. Brad Guzan, the American goalkeeper, has also been named in the squad.
Group B
Benfica v Galatasaray, 7.30pm
Benfica will be without Léo for the Uefa Cup clash against Galatasary, but are boosted by the return of Di María.
Meanwhile, Pablo Aimar, Benfica's Argentina playmaker, is set to make his European debut.
Galatasaray will be missing four midfielders due to injury: Turkish internationals Hasan Sas and Mehmet Topal, and Tobias Linderoth and Baris Ozbek. Sas, the Turkish International, is still recovering from a knee operation, but the Galatasary attack will be bolstered by Milan Baros and Harry Kewell.
FC Metalist Kharkiv v Hertha Berlin, 5pm
FC Metalist Kharkiv lie second in the Ukranian League behind Dynamo Kiev. Jaja, their Brazilian striker, is already into double figures for the season in all competitions and will start alongside Marko Devic, the top scorer in the Ukraine last term.
Jaroslav Drobny, the Hertha Berlin goalkeeper, is confident of being fit after recovering from a calf injury. Maximilian Nicu is Hertha coach Lucien Favre's only other concern, with the midfielder also suffering from a calf problem.
Group C
Standard Liege v Seville
Standard Liege, who defeated Everton in the first round of the competition, expect to be at full strength.
Seville's Aldo Duscher suffered a torn hamstring last weekend and faces a three week lay-off, while Frédéric Kanouté, the former West Ham United striker, Diego Capel and Aquivaldo Mosquera are all back in training and expect to play. Lautaro Acosta (ankle ligaments), Ernesto Chevantón (knee) and Ivica Dragutinović (thigh) miss out.
VfB Stuttgart v Partizan Belgrade, 5pm
Cacau, Stuttgart's Brazillian striker, has a thigh problem but is expected to be fit. Ludovic Magnin remains a doubt with an adductor injury. Sami Khedira also missed training on Tuesday due to illness. Khalid Boulahrouz, the former Chelsea fullback, and Yildiray Bastürk have both been ruled out.
Group E
AC Milan v Sporting Braga
Mathieu Flamini is expected back from injury in Milan's midfield and could start alongside the rarely used Emerson. Andriy Shevchenko, the former Chelsea striker, will lineup alongside Fillipo Inzaghi.
Albert Meyong, the Cameroon Striker, will lead Braga's attack. The Portuguese club also welcome back left back Cesar Peixotowho has missed their last three games with an injury.
Wolfsburg v SC Heerenveen, 6.45pm
Daniel Pranjic, the Croatian International, is hopeful of a return for SC Heerenveen, following a hamstring injury, but Roy Beerens, the Dutch winger, is set to miss the game.
Group G
St Etienne v Rosenborg
St Etienne coach Laurent Roussey's job is on the line and he has not been helped lately by injury setbacks that have denied him key players, such as Christophe Landrin (ankle) and Loic Perrin (thigh strain) who will both be missing on Thursday, as will Mouhamadou Dabo (fibula) and Moustapha Bayal Sall who is suspended. Forward Araujo Ilan should return after a sinus operation.
For Rosenborg, a knee injury to Kris Stadsgaard's will keep the Danish centreback from travelling and Anthony Annan is cup-tied.
