Arsenal welcome back William Gallas (calf) and Abou Diaby (abdominal strain), but will rest captain Cesc Fabregas (knee) and Samir Nasri (ankle).

Having already qualified - and with one eye on Saturday's Barclays Premier League clash at Middlesbrough - Bacary Sagna, Gael Clichy, Emmanuel Adebayor, Robin van Persie and Kolo Toure are also staying in London.

Aaron Ramsey, Kieran Gibbs, Gavin Hoyte, Mark Randall, Fran Merida, Jack Wilshere and Jay Simpson all make the travelling squad, which also includes Emmanuel Eboue - who was jeered off in Saturday's home game against Wigan.

Manchester United v Aalborg

Cristiano Ronaldo seems certain to miss Manchester United's Champions League encounter with Aalborg tonight despite returning to training.

Ronaldo injured a hip in Saturday's win over Sunderland but although he has been able to train, Sir Alex Ferguson feels it would be better to let the Ballon D'Or winner have further treatment ahead of the weekend visit to Tottenham.

Michael Carrick is also out with what Ferguson vaguely hinted was a minor knock, although the England international should also be fit to face his former club at White Hart Lane. Gary Neville and Ben Foster are set to start, while Paul Scholes is expected to be on the bench.
