- Nottingham Forest ended a four-match winless run with a 2-1 victory away to Northampton Town last night, despite having to play for more than three quarters of the match with ten men.
James Perch was sent off for violent conduct in the 21st minute, 12 minutes after Brett Ormerod had given Forest the lead, and they were soon pegged back, with Poul Hubertz scoring for the third match in succession for a Northampton side who are making a late run towards the play-offs, having lost only one of their previous 13 matches. However, Nathan Tyson converted a penalty just after the hour and Forest survived intense pressure in the closing stages for a win that cemented fourth place, six points clear of Walsall, the team just outside the play-offs pack.
