Radek Cerny, the Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper, has agreed a two-year contract with Queens Park Rangers.

The 34-year-old Czech has been on loan at White Hart Lane from Slavia Prague since 2005 and this season displaced Paul Robinson in the Tottenham first team, but he is now swapping north London for a move to the ambitious west Londoners. Rangers have also completed the signing of Peter Ramage from Newcastle United.

Ramage, 24, has agreed a three-year deal at Loftus Road after Toon manager Kevin Keegan admitted he could not guarantee him first-team football at St James' Park. Rangers, who are expected to be among the favourites for promotion next season with the heavy investment from Bernie Ecclestone, Flavio Briatore and Lakshmi Mittal, are still without a manager after parting company with Luigi De Canio last week.

Iain Dowie, the former West Ham United striker, is expected to be named as the new manager of the Coca-Cola Championship club following the departure of Luigi De Canio last week. Rumours circulated last week that Zinedine Zidane was in line for the job at Loftus Road.
