Take a trip to New York and see the city from the air
It may be two days since Bristol City qualified for the Coca-Cola Championship play-offs final by beating Crystal Palace, but the dust has not settled on the explosive encounter at Ashton Gate that ended with Neil Warnock, the Palace manager, being punched as he tried to reach the players' tunnel at the end of extra time.
The FA is launching an investigation into the pitch invasion by about 5,000 City fans after their team's 4-2 aggregate victory and Simon Jordan, the Palace chairman, told The Times yesterday that he feared for his safety when he left the stadium to smoke a cigarette at half-time.
“I was called every name under the sun by hundreds of morons outside the ground,” Jordan said. “They called me a poof, they called me orange and plenty of other insults that you could not print in your newspaper. They were being particularly vitriolic, but I just kept my head down. What can you do? They are morons.”
Jordan left the stadium as soon as Howard Webb, the referee, blew the final whistle, but Warnock was not so lucky. The outspoken Palace manager had accused City players of being arrogant for celebrating at the end of their 2-1 win in the first leg at Selhurst Park last Saturday and the Palace manager needed an escort of six security guards at the end of Tuesday's game to walk the 50 metres from the dugout to the players' tunnel. Warnock was pushed, tripped and jostled as he headed for the dressing-room and at least one fan threw a punch at the former Sheffield United manager. Although Warnock was shaken by the experience, he has decided not to make an official complaint.
“I saw the scenes and they were disgraceful,” Jordan said. “It's not for me to say what action the FA should take, but no one should ever be physically attacked in any walk of life.”
The FA will wait for Webb's report before deciding what action to take and will also want to know why Keith Millen, the City assistant manager, appeared on the pitch before the start of extra time despite having been sent to the stands by the referee at the end of the first half after being involved in a confrontation with Clinton Morrison, the Palace striker.

Warnock knows everyone hates him because he says things to wind people up. That is why he is not complaining about his treatment. As for Jordan, if you work in football and cannot put up with a bit of abuse from opposition fans you should get out of it. Is it really the first time you've been abused

Bristol City in the prem? I can't stop laughing!
Neil Warnock, London, UK
I am a palace fan and was at the game on Tuesday, while sitting in a pub before the game talking to a group of 4/5 Bristol fans they made it clear that if they won and invaded the pitch they would go straight for Neil Warnock. "morons " I agree.
John Andrews, Croydon,
Typical Jordan, typical Warnock.
Nothing untoward happened, they're just looking to keep the focus on Palace and detract from City.
Nothing will come of this.
Oliver Newport, Bristol, England
for a start our fans our mostly well behaved and these incidents are chicken feed to what used to happen inside football grounds generally . the game has cleaned up inside the stadiums . the c palace chairman and manager should have seen a slap to our assistant manager from clinton morrison . see tv

Simon Jordan feared for his safety when he left the stadium to smoke a cigarette at half-time, well that was his choice. After laughing with Derry at Selhurst when he decided to throw water at the Bristol City manager Gary Johnson I am not what he would expect. "they called me orange" no offence Jordan but you are, if you wish to use fake tan maybe a more natural effect would be appropriate.
Endearing yourself to Bristol City supporters by calling them morons, I am sure will make them behave different to you in future.
As for Keith Millen, he was sent to the stands for an incident with a Palace player, the player stayed on the pitch and the coach sent to the stands. He came onto the pitch at extra time for the team talk just as he would have if they went down to the dressing rooms If it was half time in normal time.
Gewyne, Bristol,
Crystal Palace..the club, not the fans are bad losers, everyone got jostled on the pitch. Bristol City fans are not moronic they are a credit to the club.! I am proud to be a Bristol City Fan!
