Bristol Rovers v Carlisle United, 3pm

Joe Jacobson (knee ligaments) is set to miss the first two months of season for Bristol Rovers, who will also be without Danny Coles (medial ligaments) and Ryan Green (Achilles). Carlisle are deprived of their midfield players Grant Smith (thigh) and Chris Lumsdon (back).

Crewe Alexandra v Brighton and Hove Albion, 3pm

Michael O’Connor (groin) is a doubt for Crewe Alexandra, although James Bailey is poised for his first start. Kerry Joel is on standby should Joel Lynch (groin) fail to make it for Brighton and Hove Albion. Adam Hinshelwood (knee) definitely misses out.

Hartlepool United v Colchester United, 3pm

New signings Alan Power and Ritchie Jones are poised to make their League debuts for Hartlepool, who are without Matty Tymon and Mark Cook. Colchester United will be without their summer recruit David Perkins (suspended), while Pat Baldwin (shoulder) is injured.

Huddersfield Town v Stockport County, 3pm

Huddersfield hope to give a debut to David Unsworth after talks with the veteran defender, but Danny Broadbent is injured. Stockport are without Jason Taylor (foot) although Dominic Blizzard (hamstring) and Paul Turnbull (groin) are confident of lining up for the newly-promoted club.

Leicester City v Milton Keynes Dons, 3pm

Paul Dickov, the former Scotland international, launches his second spell at Leicester City after signing a two-year contract on Thursday. Another forward hoping to make their debut in the game, subject to international clearance, is Ali Gerba, the Canada international who has signed for Milton Keynes Dons.

Leyton Orient v Hereford United, 3pm

An ankle injury suffered by Leyton Orient’s on-loan Tottenham winger Simon Dawkins is not as bad as first feared, but he remains a doubt. Hereford are likely to name the former Orient defender Sam Oji in their starting line-up and must choose between goalkeepers Darren Randolph and Craig Sampson.
