Andrei Arshavin, the Russia forward, says he favours a move to Spain despite receiving a number of offers from the Premier League.

The 27-year-old has been linked with English clubs including Chelsea and Arsenal, but says it is his dream is to play in Spain. The Zenit St Petersburg striker has been one of the stars of Euro 2008, scoring two goals to help Russian reach the semi-finals.

"I know that I have offers from England and Germany, but what I would really like is to play in the Spanish League, in the Primera Division," he said. "It's the championship I've always followed, I like the football they play there. But, at the moment, I don't have any offers from Spain."

In the wake of Russia's 3-1 victory over Holland on Saturday, Arshavin has been linked with Barcelona after Vitaly Butko, the president of the Russian Football Federation, said the player has his heart set on a move to the Nou Camp.

Andy Roxburgh, Uefa's technical director, says he has been impressed by Arshavin's impact on the tournament.

"Arshavin has come on the scene, he wasn't available for the first two games, and his introduction has been like a spark of magic," Roxburgh, the former Scotland manager, said.

"He's ignited them, making a good team even better. To blossom the way Russia did in the last game against Holland made everyone sit up and ask if they can go all the way."
