Diego Maradona has threatened to resign as Argentina coach unless he is allowed to appoint Oscar Ruggeri as his assistant manager.
The World Cup winner, who was only appointed nine days ago, says he is prepared to walk away from his post before the friendly with Scotland at Hampden Park next week unless his request is fulfilled.
Maradona has reportedly been in dispute with Julio Grondona, the president of Argentina FA (AFA), who does not approve of the choice of Ruggeri.
"I will be the trainer of Argentina with my technical staff I want to work with, otherwise I will not be coming to Glasgow," Maradona said.
However, Carlos Bilardo, the technical secretary of the FA, remains confident Maradona will not carry out his threat.
"He won't resign," Bilardo said. "I have spoken to Diego and told him he has to go slowly. There are 500 people he can choose to assist him.
"When I coached the national team [between 1983 and 1990] I had to change my whole staff after four or five months of work. But Diego wants them all at once."

Maradona was a best footballer of the world, but I think that He won't be a good coach. He change his mind every times. I think that He will leave his job in few time. He has already had problems with Batista and Brown, teenagers national tams coachs and now whit AFA president's Julio Grondona.
