Alexander Hleb believes Arsenal have put their thrashing at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur behind them with their recent run of results.

Arsenal have won four games in a row since they were beaten 5-1 at White Hart Lane in the second leg of the Carling Cup semi-final and have extended their league at the top of the table to four points.

But side’s form will be tested on Saturday when they face Manchester United in an FA Cup fifth round match at Old Trafford.

Hleb said: “It was very important for us to get things right again after the Spurs defeat.

“Sometimes matches like that one happen in football - maybe we didn’t have the right level of concentration, it’s difficult to say.

“It seemed to me that they maybe wanted the win more than we did. But then, it was as if every shot they took went in.”

Hleb praised team-mate Emmanuel Adebayor and backed him to continue his recent form against United and in next week’s Champions League clash with AC Milan.

The Belarusian midfielder said: “He’s in fantastic form. It’s great for him and great for the team

“Now with important games such as Manchester United and AC Milan and others coming up, it’s ideal to have a striker who is taking his chances whichever way they come and showing such all-round ability.

“Everything is coming off for him at the moment.”
