Kolo Toure wants to stay at Arsenal for the rest of his career and help the club end their trophy drought. The 27-year-old defender remains positive about the future of Arsene Wenger's team, despite the late-season meltdown that saw them surrender first place in the Premier League and crash out of the Champions League at Liverpool.
With young talents like Cesc Fabregas, Robin van Persie and Emmanuel Adebayor flourishing at the Emirates Stadium, Toure sees no reason why Arsenal shouldn't end their three-year wait for silverware next season.
"I believe in this team, I love this club. I see Arsenal as part of my life now," Toure said. "It would be difficult to leave, but in football you never know.
"The best thing for me would be to stay at Arsenal and win the Premiership again and win the Champions League. I really want to do that for the club as the club has never won it and to be the first people to win the Champions League you would be heroes.
"That is what I am looking for and, if I have to spend my whole career at this club, to win this trophy that would be amazing. I would love it to stay for life."
Toure could be leading Arsenal in their bid for success next season after suggestions Wenger may take the captain's armband from William Gallas. The Ivory Coast international admits he would love the role but he is happy to lead by example regardless.
"I would be really, really proud [to be captain], but that is not my first focus because I feel like a captain on the pitch," he said. "I am one of the oldest players in the squad so naturally I feel like a captain and it doesn't matter if I have the armband or not."
