Manchester United fans got their first look at Nani's double-somersault celebration today, when the 20-year-old Portuguese international drove home his first goal for the club in their 6-0 defeat of Shenzhen.
United took an early lead in Macau when Wayne Rooney squared to leave Giggs the simpliest of finishes after 12 minutes. The former Welsh international returned the favour eight minutes later, releasing Rooney to double the lead with a sublime 20-yard chip over goalkeeper Xiao Jianjia, before debutant Nani made it three after 24 minutes.
A 3-0 half-time lead far from flattered United, who had a goal from Wes Brown disallowed and saw a 25--yard free-kick from Christiano Ronaldo rattle against the crossbar.
Sir Alex Ferguson, the United manager, made four changes at the interval, but his side refused to relent. John O'Shea blasted home the fourth, before Ronaldo finished off a fine team move to claim number five. Substitute Chris Eagles capped an exceedingly comfortable win with a brave finish.
With concerns over the pitch, United midfielder Michael Carrick did not start the game. Owen Hargreaves, who is back in training, was also rested.
"It was a good performance in spells and the humidity was quite high," said Ferguson. "Some of the goals were very good. We wanted to use as many players as we can and it was an exercise to get everyone fit. They have all had their share and it's been good for us that way. In our first game [of the tour] there was a bit of rustiness but in the last two games we haven't looked like conceding."
