Bolton Wanderers v Everton 3pm
Nicolas Anelka will bid to mark the signing of his new improved Bolton contract by continuing his impressive start to the season against Everton. The Frenchman could be joined in attack by Kevin Davies, who returned to the bench last week after suffering a hamstring injury in the opening day defeat to Newcastle United.
Andy O'Brien will also be considered but Ricardo Gardner (hamstring) and Joey O'Brien (knee) are still out, while Abdoulaye Faye is expected to complete his move to Newcastle today.
Record signing Ayegbeni Yakubu is expected to make his Everton debut although manager David Moyes is unsure whether the Nigerian will start the match.
Loan signing Thomas Gravesen should also be in the squad, which is still without long-term injured pair Tim Cahill and James Vaughan.
There are doubts over Alan Stubbs and Lee Carsley, who have muscle injuries, which could mean that Phil Jagielka makes his full debut for the club.

Aaron Hughes (ankle), Lee Cook (knee), Hameur Bouazza (shoulder), Brian McBride (Knee) and Jimmy Bullard (knee) are still sidelined.
Aaron Lennon is expected to play for some part for Spurs while Michael Dawson (ankle) and Younes Kaboul (hamstring) are back in contention. Darren Bent has returned from thigh problems. Benoit Assou-Ekotto (knee) will start training next week and Ledley King (knee) remains sidelined.

Liverpool v Derby County 3pm
Steven Gerrard will not be risked by Liverpool but he will join up with England next week. The midfielder has a hairline fracture of a toe and has missed his club's last two matches. But Rafael Benitez has confirmed that after a discussion with the player, the decision on his involvement for England's two forthcoming Euro 2008 qualifiers will be made after a week of treatment and assessment in the England camp. "We will not risk him against Derby, but he always wants to play in every match. He will join up with England and I will then talk to Steve McClaren," Benitez said. Liverpool have no other injury problems, apart from Jamie Carragher who is recovering from a broken rib.
Billy Davies, the Derby manager, is hoping defenders Claude Davis and Tyrone Mears will be available. Davis has been struggling to bounce back from a rib injury but should be fit while Mears is expected to recover from a thigh problem in time for the Merseyside encounter.
But midfielder David Jones is certain to miss the game thanks to a groin injury while Giles Barnes, who has yet to feature this season, will once more be excused duty with the midfielder another four weeks away from recovery following a broken metatarsal.
Lee Holmes and Michael Johnson are also expected to sit out the game as a result of respective hamstring and calf injuries. Dean Leacock has picked up a toe injury and will face a late fitness test while an ankle injury means there are also doubts over Benny Feilhaber.
Liverpool (from): Reina, Finnan, Agger, Hyypia, Arbeloa, Pennant, Alonso, Sissoko, Mascherano, Riise, Benayoun, Babel, Kuyt, Crouch, Torres, Voronin, Lucas, Itandje, Leto.

Middlesbrough v Birmingham City 3pm
Jonathan Woodgate returns to the squad having been rested in midweek. Woodgate, like midfielder Julio Arca, was left out of the side for the 1-0 Carling Cup victory over Northampton, while striker Jeremie Aliadiere missed out after being knocked unconscious during Sunday's 2-2 draw with Newcastle. All three will return against Birmingham but Andrew Davies is not so fortunate and will sit out the match after suffering a head injury in the cup tie.
Maik Taylor, the Birmingham goalkeeper, will return to the starting line-up despite the fine display of Richard Kingson in the midweek Carling Cup tie with Hereford. The Northern Ireland number one ended a six-month exile from the team when he returned for the league win against Derby County last weekend.
Steve Bruce has no fresh injury problems and could revert to the side which triumphed 2-1 at Pride Park. Captain Damien Johnson, Daniel de Ridder, Franck Queudrue and Rafael Schmitz are all still ruled out but have returned to training and could feature after the international break against Bolton Wanderers.
Middlesbrough (from): Schwarzer, Jones, Young, Woodgate, Wheater, Riggott, Taylor, Hines, Boateng, Arca, Rochemback, Downing, Tuncay, Cattermole, Johnson, Mido, Aliadiere.

Newcastle United v Wigan Athletic 3pm
Sam Allardyce, the Newcastle manager, will assess Michael Owen's fitness before naming his starting line-up. The 27-year-old came through 83 minutes of Wednesday night's Carling Cup victory over Barnsley, in which he scored, with no ill-effects, but with four strikers at his disposal, Allardyce faces a tough decision.
Emre, who picked up a slight knock on his return from a groin problem, is a doubt, while Peter Ramage (knee), Stephen Carr and Celestine Babayaro (both hamstring), Joey Barton (metatarsal) and Damien Duff (ankle) are all out.
Marcus Bent goes straight into the Wigan squad after joining on a season-long loan from Charlton Athletic.
Rachid Bouaouzan, who yesterday signed a three-year contract after completing a £400,000 move from Sparta Rotterdam, will travel, but is not included in the squad.
After making eight changes to the side for the Carling Cup defeat to Hull City in midweek, Chris Hutchings, the Wigan manager, is likely to revert to the side that drew at West Ham United last Saturday, with Antonio Valencia the only doubt with a knee injury.
Newcastle United (from): Given, Harper, Solano, Enrique, N'Zogbia, Rozehnal, Taylor, Cacapa, Edgar, Huntington, Milner, Geremi, Butt, Smith, Emre, Pattison, Viduka, Martins, Ameobi, Owen.

Reading v West Ham United 3pm
Reading are set to welcome back defenders Graeme Murty (hamstring) and Nicky Shorey (knee) for tomorrow's visit of West Ham, who have tried to buy the latter.
Shane Long is doubtful because of a broken thumb and wingers Seol Ki-Hyeon (back), John Oster (ankle) and Glen Little (Achilles) are all still sidelined. Defender Ibrahima Sonko (knee) is not yet fit but has trained with the first team for the first time.
Dean Ashton is back in the West Ham squad after missing the midweek win against Bristol Rovers as his partner had gone into labour. Kieron Dyer broke his leg at the Memorial Stadium and is likely to miss most of the season. Freddie Ljungberg and Scott Parker are getting back to full fitness but may not make the squad.
Reading (from): Hahnemann, Federici, Murty, De la Cruz, Ingimarsson, Bikey, Duberry, Shorey, Golbourne, Fae, Cisse, Harper, Gunnarsson, Hunt, Convey, Doyle, Lita, Kitson, Long, Cox, Halls.

Manchester United v Sunderland 5.15pm
Louis Saha returns to the United squad. He has not played since sustaining a knee injury against AC Milan in the Champions League last April.
Wayne Rooney (broken foot) and Gary Neville (thigh) are again ruled out through injury. Rooney is due to have a scan on the problem next week. Cristiano Ronaldo is suspended while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer announced his retirement this week.
Brazil international Anderson could be involved, however, after a hamstring strain.
Sunderland new boys Kenwyne Jones and Danny Higginbotham could be included in the squad for the first time for the trip to Old Trafford.
Jones' participation could be delayed by a slight hamstring problem, while Ian Harte is unlikely to be included after he missed the reserve team game last night because his international clearance had not arrived in time, and Andrew Cole is short of match fitness.
Full-back Greg Halford is suspended after being sent off at Luton in midweek, meaning 17-year-old Michael Kay could be involved, while Paul McShane and Kieran Richardson are doubts with shoulder and back problems respectively. Dean Whitehead (knee) and Carlos Edwards (hamstring) are both defintely out.

Sunday September 2
Arsenal v Portsmouth 1.30pm
Alexander Hleb is a doubt due to illness. Jens Lehmann, the Arsenal goalkeeper, is still out with Achilles and elbow problems so Manuel Almunia will continue in goal. William Gallas (groin), Emmanuel Eboue (ankle) and Bacary Sagna (back) remain in the treatment room.
Glen Johnson, on loan at Fratton Park last season, is set to play right back for Portsmouth after signing for Harry Redknapp's team in a £4 million move from Chelsea. It will mean Lauren switching to the right of midfield against his former club in place of Gary O'Neil who is joining Middlesbrough in a £5 million move.
Redknapp did not appear at a routine press briefing and is thought to be planning a late swoop before the transfer deadline. But he has Pedro Mendes and Nico Kranjcar fit again - although there is a slight doubt over skipper Sol Campbell, another ex-Arsenal star who dropped out of training today to work with the club's physio.
Arsenal (from): Almunia, Toure, Clichy, Fabregas, Flamini, Hleb, Van Persie, Fabianski, Eduardo, Bendtner, Walcott, Senderos, Traore, Hoyte, Song, Gilberto, Denilson, Rosicky, Adebayor.

Aston Villa v Chelsea 4pm
Curtis Davies, Aston Villa's record signing, is likely to have to put his debut on hold because of a hamstring problem. The £10 million capture from West Bromwich Albion is more likely to be available after the two-week international break. But Martin O'Neill's other newcomer, Zat Knight, signed from Fulham for £3.5 million, will go straight in to the squad to face Jose Mourinho's side. Shaun Maloney is pushing hard for a place in the starting line up after netting the winner against Fulham and scoring twice against Wrexham in the Carling Cup. But Thomas Sorensen, the goalkeeper, and midfielder Patrik Berger are still not fit enough to return.
Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard tore his thigh muscle in training with England. It is not yet known how long he will be out for.
Florent Malouda missed part of training this week but Chelsea are hopeful he will be fit. Michael Ballack (ankle), Ricardo Carvalho (leg) and Wayne Bridge (hip) are out, although Bridge has returned to light training. Andriy Shevchenko is fit to make his first appearance of the season.

Blackburn Rovers v Manchester City 3pm
Mark Hughes will bring strike pair Benni McCarthy and Roque Santa Cruz back into his side. The pair were rested for the midweek Uefa Cup win over MyPa and will return alongside midfield pair Robbie Savage and David Dunn, who were also given the night off. Hughes is hopeful central defender Chris Samba will shake off the illness which ruled him out in midweek, while he is without Paul Gallagher who has joined Preston on loan.
Geovanni, Manchester City's Brazilian midfielder, is expected to shake off a calf injury while Sven-Goran Eriksson, the manager, looks certain to recall his key players following the midweek Carling Cup victory against Bristol City. Kasper Schmeichel could replace Joe Hart between the posts after a bright start to his league career.
