Arsenal look set to be without winger Alexander Hleb (Achilles) for tomorrow night's trip to Newcastle United. Cesc Fabregas (hamstring) missed the win at Aston Villa and remains a doubt, along with Abou Diaby (back).

Under pressure Sam Allardyce has resigned himself to losing Abdoulaye Faye and Stephen Carr to injury once again for the crucial match against the Barclays Premier League leaders

Faye damaged a calf muscle on his return from a hamstring problem at Blackburn Rovers on Saturday. Carr, who replaced him at Ewood Park, felt a tightness in his own hamstring and also had to come off, and both are major doubts.

Steven Taylor (back) could return, but Claudio Cacapa, Michael Owen and Peter Ramage (all knee), Celestine Babayaro (back), and Damien Duff (foot) are still out.

Everton have fitness doubts over defender Joseph Yobo and goalkeeper Tim Howard ahead of their crucial Uefa Cup Group A meeting with Zenit St Petersburg, the newly-crowned Russian champions.

Yobo has an ankle injury while Howard has been suffering from sickness this week, leaving manager David Moyes with concerns as he plans for a match that sees Everton needing just one point to qualify for the next stage. With Alan Stubbs, the veteran defender, also still out with a knee problem, Moyes may have to play Phil Jagielka in defence, with German keeper Stefan Wessels on stand-by.
