Fulham v Chelsea 12.45pm
Roy Hodgson, the new Fulham manager, will be without Aaron Hughes and Hameur Bouazza, who is suspended after his red card away to Birmingham City on Saturday. Chelsea have Ashley Cole back from suspension. Avram Grant, the manager, is not fazed by jeers from fans during the 2-1 home defeat of Newcastle United on Saturday. “I think most of the supporters are very happy,” he said.
Fulham (possible; 4-4-2): A Niemi – E Omozusi, C Bocanegra, D Stefanovic, P Konchesky – S Davies, S Davis, D Murphy, C Dempsey – D Kamara, D Healy. Injuries and suspensions: K Keller (arm), I Peace (calf), A Hughes (calf), J Bullard (knee), B McBride (knee), L Cook (knee), H Bouazza (one match).

Arsenal v West Ham 3pm
Arsenal have responded positively to the blip of a 2-1 defeat away to Middlesbrough early last month, with five wins and one draw in all competitions. Arsène Wenger gives Bacary Sagna, the right back, a break and brings in Justin Hoyte. Emmanuel Eboué should also return from a well-earned rest. West Ham are racked by injuries but should be buoyed by the 2-1 home victory over Manchester United on Saturday and a sequence of three matches unbeaten.
Arsenal (possible; 4-4-1-1): M Almunia – J Hoyte, K Touré, W Gallas, G Clichy – A Hleb, F Fàbregas, M Flamini, E Eboué – Eduardo da Silva – E Adebayor. Injuries and suspensions: R van Persie (thigh).
West Ham United (possible; 4-5-1): R Green – L Neill, A Ferdinand, M Upson, G McCartney – J Pantsil, H Mullins, S Parker, M Noble, H Camara – C Cole. Injuries and suspensions: D Gabbidon (groin), M Etherington (groin), L Boa Morte (thigh), C Davenport (groin), C Bellamy (abdomen), L Bowyer (groin), R Zamora (knee), K Dyer (leg), J Faubert (ankle/foot), N Solano (hamstring).
Referee: C Foy.

Middlesbrough v Everton 3pm
The return of Yakubu Ayegbeni to Teesside will offer a poignant reminder of the firepower Middlesbrough have lost this season. While their 1-0 victory away to Portsmouth last weekend was, according to Luke Young, their England defender, “pretty much the complete away performance”, their form at the Riverside Stadium has been mediocre. Only Derby County have scored fewer home goals and amassed fewer home points than Gareth Southgate’s team.
Middlesbrough (possible; 4-4-2): M Schwarzer – L Young, D Wheater, R Huth, E Pogatetz – G O’Neil, G Boateng, J Arca, S Downing – Tuncay Sanli, J Aliadière. Injuries and suspensions: T Craddock (groin), S Hines (hamstring), T McMahon (hamstring), A Taylor (foot), B Jones (thigh), Mido (pubic bone), M Bates (knee).
Everton (possible; 4-4-2): T Howard – T Hibbert, J Yobo, J Lescott, L Baines – L Carsley, P Neville, S Pienaar, T Cahill – A Johnson, Yakubu Ayegbeni. Injuries and suspensions: L Osman (toe), T Gravesen (knee), I Turner (hip/thigh), A van der Meyde (shin), M Arteta (first match of three).
Referee: M Riley.

Reading v Portsmouth 3pm
Reading must recover from the 6-4 defeat away to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday – against the team who beat them 7-4 at Fratton Park in September. Nicky Hammond, the Reading director of football, has denied that Stephen Hunt, the Ireland winger, could be moving to Sunderland. “We’ve got no intention of selling any of our players in the transfer window,” he said. After recording an 11-match unbeaten league run, Portsmouth have not won in four outings.
Reading (probable; 4-4-2): M Hahnemann – G Murty, I Sonko, I Ingimarsson, N Shorey – S Hunt, K Cissé, J Harper, R Convey – K Doyle, D Kitson. Injuries and suspensions: J Oster (ankle), G Little (Achilles), B Gunnarsson (second match of three).
Portsmouth (possible; 4-4-2): D James – G Johnson, S Campbell, S Distin, H Hreidarsson – J Utaka, P Bouba Diop, S Muntari, N Kranjcar – B Mwaruwari, Kanu. Injuries and suspensions: S Davis (foot), N Pamarot (hamstring), L Primus (knee), M Cranie (leg), P Mendes (flu), J Ashdown (shoulder).
Referee: M Dean.

Manchester United v Birmingham 3pm
Wayne Rooney is likely to return to the Manchester United team after recovering from a stomach bug, as could Michael Carrick, who has been out with a virus, as Sir Alex Ferguson, the manager, looks to rest some senior players for the FA Cup third-round tie away to Aston Villa on Saturday. Birmingham City have concerns over Damien Johnson, who has a jaw injury, but hope that he will play. Martin Djourou is available for the final time before his loan from Arsenal expires.
Manchester United (possible; 4-4-2): T Kuszczak – W Brown, R Ferdinand, N Vidic, P Evra – C Ronaldo, M Carrick, Anderson, Nani – W Rooney, L Saha. Injuries and suspensions: E van der Sar (groin), B Foster (knee), M Silvestre (knee), P Scholes (knee).
Birmingham City (possible; 4-5-1): Maik Taylor – S Kelly, R Jaidi, L Ridgewell, F Queudrue – S Larsson, F Muamba, M Nafti, D Johnson, G McSheffrey – C Jerome. Injuries and suspensions: S Parnaby (ankle), B Oubina (knee).
Referee: P Walton.

Aston Villa v Tottenham 5.20pm
Darren Bent and Didier Zokora are back from injury and suspension respectively for Tottenham Hotspur. John Carew limped off with a knee problem as Aston Villa beat Wigan Athletic last weekend and is struggling to be fit. Curtis Davies hopes to keep his place in defence in place of Zat Knight. After Tottenham’s 6-4 win over Reading on Saturday, the odds on this ending goalless must be long, not least because the reverse fixture in October ended 4-4, with the North London team recovering from a 4-1 deficit.
Aston Villa (possible; 4-4-2): S Carson – O Mellberg, M Laursen, C Davies, W Bouma – S Maloney, N Reo-Coker, G Barry, A Young – L Moore, G Agbonlahor. Injuries and suspensions: None.
Tottenham Hotspur (possible; 4-4-2): P Robinson – P Chimbonda, M Dawson, L King, Lee Young Pyo – A Lennon, D Zokora, J Jenas, S Malbranque – D Berbatov, R Keane. Injuries and suspensions: A Gardner (ankle), G Bale (foot), B Assou-Ekotto (knee).
Referee: S Tanner.
Television: Live on Sky Sports 1 from 5pm.
