Carlos Queiroz, the Manchester United assistant manager, insists "no amount of money" will force them to sell Cristiano Ronaldo.
Queiroz has warned Real Madrid, the club he managed for a season, that even a bid of £97 million would not be enough to prize the Premier League's top goalscorer away from Old Trafford. However, Madrid appear determined to tempt the 23-year-old back to the continent and have continually been linked with a summer move for the player.
Although Queiroz insists even a world-record transfer fee would not tempt the Premier League champions into selling their best player.
"We would not sell him for €120million," Queiroz said. "You can offer all the money in the world, but there is no amount that can buy him."

Nobody leaves United to move upwards and onwards - they have only ever left to make a short term financial gain and their real careers are usually over soon afterwards. Hughes? Ince? Beckham? Van Nistelrooy? Stam? all of them were "used- to-be's" after they lost the red jersey. When you play for United you are looking down at all the other teams - if you join another team you will always be looking up.
The ability to make history - to become a true legend in popular folklore - is with Christiano at United - he should stay there. Join Madrid or anybody else when he is nearly ready to retire.

i think carlos queiroz has said sumthing very wise which i hope will remind real madrid that he is manchester united.
they should not even dream of getting him to play for the scum of a club real madrid in this lifetime

Mr Queiroz has clearly forgotten about player power. Sadly, everyone has a price. He really should have said: "We would not sell him for â¬120 million next season"
Who knows about the season after that? All that needs to happen is for Chelsea to make an audacious bid for him (probably the only team in world football that could pay such an extortionate fee). They'd soon send him overseas then!
If Utd win both the Champions League and the Premiership, he could go looking for a new challenge. If they don't win the Champions League, he may give it one last crack next year. Either way, in my humble opinion, he will go to Real Madrid.
