Joe Cole is determined to make the final Sunday of the Premier League season a "squeaky bum" time for Sir Alex Ferguson.
The Chelsea midfielder promised his side would make no slip ups against Newcastle United at St James' Park today, thus ensuring the title race goes to the wire.
Chelsea trail United by three points, with one game in hand, but Manchester United hold a superior goal difference, being 19 goals ahead of Avram Grant's squad. Defeat this afternoon would all but hand Ferguson's team the title with one match of the season remaining.
"There have been some big games recently and it is a final push for me," Cole said. "I have played a lot of football and my last few games I haven't been at my best but I want to come back to my best in this game and get the points.
"We had a bad result up at Newcastle last season. We lost Michael Ballack injured as well so it wasn't a good day. This year we will keep going and we want to take it to the last day. If we can win and take it to the last Sunday then it is squeaky bum time as the famous man once said."
Chelsea have the best away record in the league, having won 39 points on the road, compared to Arsenal's 33 and United's 32. Cole says that strength will ensure they prolong the season.
"We have good resilience and we find it easy to play when teams come out at us," he said. "Hopefully with the position Newcastle are in, they will come at us and it will be a high-scoring game and another three points for us.
"In front of their own fans they are going to want to play and there are a couple of old Man United players in there who are going want to do their old mates some favours, but we just have to keep going and get the job done."
