Decent bets

West Ham United are willing to allow Bobby Zamora to leave. The forward missed most of last season with a knee injury. Fulham, who narrowly avoided relegation from the Barclays Premier League, have expressed an interest in the past and will be looking to bolster their forward line after the departure of Brian McBride.

West Ham have released Nolberto Solano. The midfield player joined from Newcastle United a year ago.

Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring Sergio García, the 24-year-old Real Zaragoza forward. Giovani dos Santos has confirmed that he will move to Tottenham from Barcelona. The 19-year-old Mexico midfield player is expected to cost £6 million, rising to £8 million. “Next season I will be playing for Tottenham,” he said.

Jussi Jaaskelainen has been offered a new four-year contract at Bolton Wanderers. The goalkeeper is out of contract this month. He has attracted interest from Aston Villa.

Fulham are willing to pay compensation to Alexei Smertin to release the midfield player from the last year of his contract. Zoltan Gera is expected to move to Fulham next week, if the midfield player does not receive a better offer. West Bromwich Albion said that they have made a final offer to Gera, who is out of contract.

Rangers have offered £1.5 million for Adam Johnson, the Middlesbrough winger. Derby County are close to a deal with Tranmere Rovers for Steve Davies, the 20-year-old striker whose contract expires this month.

Andreas Isaksson has said that Mark Hughes’s arrival as Manchester City manager has not changed his decision to leave. The Sweden goalkeeper claimed to be out of contract, but City have said that he has a year left. “I will not be fighting for my place or talking to the new manager,” he said.

Nice have said that they are to sign Emerse Faé from Reading on loan, becoming permanent when the midfield player appears in 20 matches.

Yoann Gourcuff has agreed to join Bordeaux on loan from AC Milan with an option for a permanent deal. The French midfield player, 21, had attracted interest from Tottenham Hotspur, Marseilles and Ajax.

Blackpool have signed Marlon Broomes on a free transfer after the defender was released by Stoke City.

Danny Granville, the defender, has joined Leyton Orient after being released by Colchester United.

Liverpool’s interest in Aaron Ramsey has cooled. The Cardiff City midfield player is expected to visit Manchester United today and then Arsenal and Everton. The three clubs have agreed a fee of up to about £5.5 million.

Michael Bradley has said that he wants to move to England. The SC Heerenveen and United States midfield player, 20, has attracted interest from Newcastle United and Everton. Middlesbrough claim to have made a £3.2 million bid.
