2nd Round
Brighton v Manchester City
Michael Johnson is back in the Manchester City squad following his recovery from a groin injury.
However, midfielder Martin Petrov remains sidelined with a similar problem and although Nedum Onuoha has resumed training after a knee injury, he will not be fit for tomorrow's game.
Robinho will not be involved as he is currently involved in resettling his family in this country.
Manchester City (from): Hart, Zabaleta, Richards, Dunne, Ball, Ben Haim, Johnson, Ireland, Kompany, Wright-Phillips, Elano, Jo, Garrido, Schmeichel, Fernandes, Hamann, Evans, Sturridge, Etuhu, Glauber.
3rd Round
Aston Villa v QPR
Martin O’Neill is considering changes for the visit of Queens Park Rangers to Villa Park. The Aston Villa manager, who has one of the smallest squads in the Premier League, was able to recall John Carew, Ashley Young and Curtis Davies for Sunday’s win at West Brom after the trio were not risked for Thursday’s Uefa Cup match with Litex Lovech in Bulgaria because of minor knocks. He may opt to rest some of his senior players again with a Premier League match at home to Sunderland upcoming on Saturday.
Aston Villa (from): Friedel, Luke Young, Laursen, Knight, Davies, Cuellar, Shorey, Milner, Routledge, Petrov, Reo-Coker, Barry, Ashley Young, Carew, Agbonlahor, Harewood, Gardner, Salifou, Osbourne, Delfouneso, Guzan.
Blackburn Rovers v Everton, 8pm
Steven Reid is the latest player to join Blackburn's injury list. He pulled out of Saturday's 1-0 Barclays Premier League victory over Fulham with a knee problem, and will be out for another fortnight.
Reid joins David Dunn (Achilles), Vince Grella (calf) and Benni McCarthy (groin) on the sidelines, while Aaron Mokoena is ill and Keith Andrews is cup-tied.
Mikel Arteta is the only major doubt for Everton. The Spanish winger has struggled with a virus for the last 48 hours and was repeatedly sick following Everton's 2-2 draw at Hull on Sunday.
Tony Hibbert has resumed training following a cruciate knee ligament injury, but he will still be absent along with Steven Pienaar (ankle) and Andy van der Meyde (hamstring).
Blackburn (from): Robinson, Simpson, Samba, Nelsen, Warnock, Emerton, Tugay, Pedersen, R Santa Cruz, Roberts, Fowler, Derbyshire, Villanueva, Khizanishvili, Ooijer, Olsson, Treacy, Brown.
Everton (from): Howard, Neville, Lescott, Baines, Yobo, Jagielka, Castillo, Arteta, Osman, Cahill, Baxter, Yakubu, Saha, Turner, Nash, Jutkiewicz, Fellaini, Agard, Kissock, Wallace, Anichebe, Vaughan, Valente, Rodwell.
Ipswich v Wigan Athletic
Michael Brown and Lee Cattermole could return to the Wigan Athletic side for their Carling Cup clash at Portman Road.
Brown missed the goalless draw at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday as his wife went into labour. Cattermole is available after serving a suspension following his red card against Sunderland on September 13, and Steve Bruce has promised to select a strong squad.
Wigan (from): Kirkland, Melchiot, Boyce, Bramble, Figueroa, Valencia, Koumas, Palacios, Cattermole, Kilbane, Heskey, Zaki, Brown, Camara, De Ridder, Kapo, Kupisz, Scharner, Pollitt.
Newcastle United v Tottenham Hotspur
Obafemi Martins will return to the Newcastle squad for Wednesday night's crucial tie. The Nigeria international has missed the last four games with a groin problem but is now fit enough to resume.
Danny Guthrie and Joey Barton are suspended, while Mark Viduka, Habib Beye (both Achilles), Jonas Gutierrez (shoulder) and Jose Enrique are still missing.
Tottenham may rest striker Roman Pavlyuchenko, despite the cup-holders still seeking their first domestic victory of the season.
Midfielder Luka Modric is still struggling with a knee problem but has not been ruled out of the St James' Park clash.
Right-back Alan Hutton (foot) is a certain absentee but centre-backs Michael Dawson and Ledley King, who were both left out of the squad for the draw with Wigan on Sunday, could feature, along with on-loan Manchester United striker Fraizer Campbell.
Newcastle (from): Given, Harper, Edgar, N'Zogbia, Taylor, Coloccini, Cacapa, Bassong, Tozer, Butt, Geremi, Duff, Gonzalez, Donninger, Owen, Xisco, Martins, Ameobi, Donaldson, Ranger, Danquah.
Tottenham (from): Gomes, Bale, Gunter, Zokora, Bentley, Jenas, Woodgate, King, Dawson, Corluka, O'Hara, Lennon, Assou-Ekotto, Huddlestone, Campbell, Bent, Gilberto, Giovani, Pavlyuchenko, Modric, Cesar Sanchez.
Portsmouth have been hit by a number of injuries on top of Sunday's humiliating 6-0 defeat at Manchester City, with midfield trio Lassana Diarra, Sean Davis and Papa Bouba Diop all ruled out of tomorrow night's Carling Cup clash.
Diarra's knee ligament injury looks a serious problem that could keep him out long term while Davis has a torn groin muscle and Diop a torn hamstring.
Harry Redknapp was planning to rest several first-team players after a tough run of three games in nine days but, with his squad seriously depleted, could give striker Kanu his first start since the FA Cup final in May. John Utaka may also start after coming on as a substitute against City.
Chelsea will be without Deco (thigh) and Ricardo Carvalho (knee). After sustaining injuries before and during the draw against Manchester United at the weekend, the pair will join Michael Essien (knee) on the sidelines.
Didier Drogba (knee) and Michael Ballack (ankle) are still short of match fitness.
Portsmouth (from): James, Ashdown, Kaboul, Johnson, Campbell, Distin, Hreidarsson, A Traore, D Traore, Mvuemba, Kanu, Utaka, Lauren, Little, Hughes, Nugent, Crouch, Defoe, Belhadj, Wilson.
Chelsea (from): Cech, Ivanovic, A Cole, Lampard, Di Santo, J Cole, Drogba, Mikel, Ballack, Malouda, Sinclair, Bosingwa, Bridge, Ferreira, Kalou, Cudicini, Terry, Alex, Belletti, Anelka, Hilario.
