6.56pm: It's end-to-end stuff, as Adebayor misses the softest of goals, nudging the ball wide across an undefended goal.

6.55pm: GOAL! How wrong can you be? Hull have equalised. It's third time lucky for Geovanni as his wonderful strike evades Almunia and sails into the corner of the net. It's Arsenal 1 Hull City 1

6.52pm: There's a sense of anticipation, as Arsenal finally look dangerous. A scything run by Walcott comes to nothing, but it feels like a matter of time now before the floodgates open.

6.46pm: It's almost 3-0, as first Adebayor and then Van Persie are off-target.

6.43pm: GOAL! Walcott passes after a superb run, and the ball is bundled into goal in a most unsightly fashion jointly by Cesc Fabregas and Paul McShane of Hull City, who looks heartbroken at his own goal. But the home side are ahead, and that's what counts.

6.41pm: A dogged Hull defence, and solid goalkeeping by Myhill is enough to fend off an onslaught by Arsenal.

6.39pm: Hull start the second half well, and have a corner. Dawson takes it, but Boateng's shot on goal is defended well by Fabregas and the ball lands harmlessly on top of the net.

6.22pm: Half-time at the Emirates - Arsenal 0 Hull City 0

6.19pm: Yellow card for Hull captain Ian Ashbee after Adebayor is brought down, but the Northerners will be going into half-time feeling satisfied with their performance..

6.17pm: Great defending by Hull as Walcott's pass to Adebayor is turned away by Michael Turner. Arsenal's next attempt at goal is painful to watch: a great pass from Adebayor to Eboue is wasted, as he tries to pass it rather than putting it away.

6.13pm: The real Arsenal finally show themselves, but Van Persie is ruled offside. Walcott gets another chance, but is again dispossessed.

6.08pm: Arsenal look surprisingly tentative. While clearly outclassed, Hull are managing to disrupt the Londoners' rhythm. Ten minutes to half-times, and Phil Brown must be feeling pleased with his team's efforts so far.
