Sunday
Bolton Wanderers v Manchester City, 4pm
Bolton manager Gary Megson can recall Gavin McCann for Sunday's home clash with Manchester City after the midfielder missed the defeat against Everton through suspension. Megson admitted his team were "obviously in trouble" after the result against Everton left the Trotters second-bottom in the Premier League, and he could be tempted to make changes.
Pablo Zabaleta is expected to return from suspension as Manchester City look to bounce back from midweek defeat at Middlesbrough by beating Bolton on Sunday. The Argentina defender has served a three-match ban following his dismissal against Liverpool and should return at right-back as manager Mark Hughes looks for a stronger defensive performance. Hughes is hopeful £18million striker Jo will be available after a bout of tonsillitis, although Daniel Sturridge (ankle) is likely to miss out.

Monday
Newcastle United v Aston Villa, 8pm
Newcastle captain Michael Owen is poised to return to action for Monday's clash against Aston Villa. Owen and vice-captain Nicky Butt are both back in contention to feature for Joe Kinnear's side at St James' Park. Owen has missed the last three games with groin trouble, while Butt, who has had an ankle problem, sat out Tuesday's victory over West Brom.
Aston Villa have a doubt over midfielder Stiliyan Petrov for Monday night's trip to Newcastle United. The Bulgarian international picked up a hamstring injury during Wednesday's 3-2 win against Blackburn and will be given a late fitness test with Steve Sidwell on stand-by to replace him. Sidwell has yet to start a Barclays Premier League game for Villa having been troubled by injury since his £5million summer switch from Chelsea. Manager Martin O'Neill must also decide whether to recall striker John Carew to the starting line-up. The Norwegian international has started the last two games on the bench after missing the UEFA Cup tie against Ajax through illness.
