James Milner will return to the side after suffering a blow to his side against Newcastle on Monday. Also set to return are Brad Friedel, Luke Young, Martin Laursen, Gareth Barry and Nigel Reo-Coker who will return to the starting line-up after being rested for the Uefa Cup.
Stiliyan Petrov will miss a third successive game as he is still being troubled by a hamstring strain.
Gareth Southgate will choose between record signing Afonso Alves and top-scorer Mido, with Tuncay Sanli almost certain to retain his place in attack after an impressive return from injury.
Southgate is also expected to name Justin Hoyte at right back, relegating David Wheater to the bench, while Julio Arca is poised to replace Didier Digard in central midfield.

Blackburn Rovers v Chelsea,1.30pm
Blackburn are likely to be without Benni McCarthy and Roque Santa Cruz. McCarthy is suspended while Santa Cruz is a major doubt following a calf tear.
Brett Emerton and Vince Grella are also out with hamstring injuries.
Ashley Cole will miss the trip with a calf problem. Wayne Bridge will continue to deputise for Cole, but Ricardo Carvalho (hamstring), Michael Ballack (foot) and Michael Essien (knee) remain out.
Mineiro has been added to the squad and could make his first start in the Barclays Premier League.

Fulham v Newcastle United, 4pm
Seol Ki-Hyeon remains doubtful for Fulham. Seol has returned from his trip to South Korea, granted for personal reasons, but is still struggling with a knee injury. Defender Toni Kallio has shaken off his virus but Fredrik Stoor is unavailable because of a cold.
Midfielder Dickson Etuhu will return to training on Monday after overcoming his knee injury, but will miss this weekend's encounter.
Micheal Owen looks set to start on the bench as Joe Kinnear is expected to field a largely unchanged side from the team which beat Aston Villa on Wednesday. The 28-year-old returned from a groin injury as a late substitute in the 2-0 victory over Aston Villa on Monday night, but interim boss Joe Kinnear is likely to stick with the 11 men who secured a second successive league win.
Danny Guthrie may join Owen among the substitutes after missing out because of Nicky Butt's return against Villa.

Vincent Kompany remains doubtful after missing the 3-2 victory over FC Twente in the Uefa Cup because of a groin problem. Benjani is pushing for a place in the starting line-up after marking his return from a thigh injury with a goal.
Vedran Corluka and Roman Pavlyuchenko return to the Tottenham squad after being cup-tied for the Uefa Cup this week.
Jamie O'Hara, suspended for the win over Dinamo Zagreb, is set to return, while Ledley King is in contention after being rested.
Giovani dos Santos (ankle) is out and Jermaine Jenas (toe) has been struggling.
