Win a £1500 Raymond Weil watch
David Moyes, the Everton manager, has been fined £5,000 by the FA after being found guilty of improper conduct. Alan Wiley, the referee, sent Moyes to the stands during Everton's 3-2 league victory away to Stoke City in September, after Moyes criticised Wiley for not awarding his side a penalty. An FA statement read: “In reaching its decision, the commission said that it was taking into account Moyes's good disciplinary record, his admission of the charge and his apology.”
No clause for concern
Portsmouth have denied reports that Lassana Diarra has a clause in his contract that allows him to move for a fee of £10 million. “It is absolute rubbish,” Peter Storrie, the executive chairman, said. “If someone came in and wanted him they would have to pay an awful lot of money, credit crunch or no credit crunch. Every day there is some other rubbish about bids put in and this player going. It's nonsense. If things are going to change, then we will tell everybody.”

Torres lays claim to title
Fernando Torres is confident that Liverpool are good enough to win the Barclays Premier League. Liverpool are second on goal difference behind Chelsea and Torres believes they are capable of maintaining their form until the end of the season. “If you are still up there [at the top] by December, then you have serious options of staying there,” the Spain striker said. “The Premier League is the title which everyone wants, even more than the Champions League, especially considering that the club lifted that trophy three seasons ago.”
And finally...
Reading are believed to have paid Cork City about £200,000 to buy out the 10 per cent sell-on clause written into the contract of Kevin Doyle when the striker moved from the League of Ireland club to England in June 2005.
