7.26pm: FULL TIME Stoke 1 Newcastle 1 Deadly accurate throw from Delap into the box, but Whelan can't control his volley. Lawrence puts a corner in for Stoke - Carroll makes a crucial header at the other end, and the whistle blows.

7.20pm: Stephen Kelly comes on to replace Wilkinson. Five minutes of extra time - can either side steal the three points?

7.18pm: Newcastle look like a different team, and make run after run, with Carroll looking dangerous on a couple of occassions. The flowing play comes to a halt, however, after Lawrence fouls Duff. He collects a yellow card.

7.10pm: GOAL! Stoke 1 Newcastle 1 Ryan Taylor's long throw-in is cleared but Duff lifts it back into the box. Andy Carroll scores a vital goal for the visitors, heading the ball over the top of Sorensen.

7.08pm: Duff finds Owen in the box, but there's no getting past Faye. Good ball back in from Taylor - Carroll peels off the back post but heads the ball just wide. Newcastle have only had one shot on target in the whole game, and that went straight to the goalkeeper! Danny Pugh replaces Matthew Etherington for Stoke.

7.05pm: Delap throws in, it bounces around the box, Fuller heads it back towards goal, but Harper snatches it out of the air. Fuller gets a yellow for a late challenge on Taylor.

7.01pm: Stoke are very quick on the break, leaving the Newcastle midfield stranded. Despite outnumbering the defence by three to two, Whelan shoots too early and puts the ball wide. Carroll comes on for Ameobi.

6.59pm: Newcastle start to extert some pressure. Duff crosses the ball - Ameobi heads it over the bar. A corner from Duff on the other side is bundled away.

6.54pm: Gutierrez gets ready to come on for Guthrie as the visitors concede a corner from a long Delap throw. The corner goes to another throw, cut out by Nolan. Stoke appeal for hand-ball but the referee says play on.

6.46pm: Handbags out following a nasty challenge by Wilkinson on Guthry - Wilkinson gets yellow. Tempers are definitely fraying on both sides. You don't need to lip-read to guess what the players are saying to each other. Wilkinson then risks another card with a foul on Duff.

6.44pm: From a free-kick, Abdoulaye Faye slides in at the far post but Taylor blocks on the line.

6.36pm: Owen starts the ball rolling again for Newcastle. Stoke make an early break with Fuller given room to run at the box. Steve Harper has to go to the ground to stop a shot - the ball bounces back to Fuller, who hits it back in again and Newcastle somehow scramble a header from Whelan off the line. Stoke attack once more, and Taylor brings down Etherington on the wing to gain a yellow card after play resumes.
