Saturday

Birmingham City v Sunderland

Franck Queudrue and Stuart Parnaby are available after injury for Birmingham City. Queudrue, who has been moved from left back to centre back this season, and Parnaby, the right back, have been included after recovering from hamstring problems. Alex McLeish, the manager, will be pleased that the squad's injury problems are easing with Gregory Vignal, another defender, set to resume training next week, also after a hamstring injury. But Teemu Tainio, the midfield player who is on loan from Sunderland, is ineligible to face his club.

Steve Bruce will welcome back Kieran Richardson after suspension for the trip to the manager's former club. Richardson missed the 1-0 victory over Liverpool after being sent off against Manchester United. Lee Cattermole is out with a knee ligament injury and John Mensah (calf) is also out, but Kenwyne Jones, who was carried off with a twisted ankle last Saturday, trained yesterday and is expected to be fit, as are Bolo Zenden (hip) and Andy Reid (calf).

Burnley v Wigan Athletic

Owen Coyle, the Burnley manager, has no fresh injury concerns. Fernando Guerrero played 90 minutes for the reserves this week and may feature after the winger overcame a hamstring injury. Martin Paterson, Chris McCann (both knee) and Jay Rodriguez (ankle) are all still out.

Chris Kirkland and Paul Scharner, the midfield players, are doubtful for the trip to Turf Moor. Kirkland dislocated a finger in the second half of Sunday's 1-1 draw against Manchester City and although he saw out the game, he has yet to train this week. Scharner sustained a hip injury that forced him off after 72 minutes and, like Kirkland, has not participated in training since.
