David Moyes, the Everton manager, insists Andrew Johnson will not be leaving
Goodison Park this summer.
Reports this morning linked Johnson with a £10 million move away from the
club, with Sunderland, Manchester City, Middlesbrough, Aston Villa and West
Ham United all reportedly interested in the player.
However, Moyes has denied Johnson is for sale, despite the former Crystal
Palace forward becoming increasingly frustrated at his lack of first team
opportunities following the arrival of Yakubu in January.
"Andy Johnson is not for sale - it is that simple," Moyes said. "He is a
highly-valued member of my senior squad and I look forward to seeing him
when the players report back for pre-season training."

Sell him, and replace him with who? Bent? No thanks. We have only 4 main strikers in the first team, and suffered with injuries and the poorly timed sale of JMcF. Bad business to sell him when you can't bring in another player as good as him without spending more than you made from the sale.
