I had my hair cut yesterday by my lucky barber. Nothing flash, just a £14 trim to make me look half-decent on Match of the Day. I went to the same place before the second round and I scored the winner against Notts County, so hopefully José Manuel Reina will be picking the ball out of the net as I celebrate in front of the Kop.

I watched Liverpool’s game against Aston Villa the other night but to be honest I fell asleep in front of the box. I wanted to check out Steve Finnan because I will probably be up against him if Rafael BenÍtez picks a strong side – and if I’m in the starting lineup.

Finnan’s a great player but I’m not scared of anyone. I know what my job is and that’s to get as many crosses in as possible. I’ll leave the fancy stuff to Cristiano Ronaldo.

I’m still not 100 per cent sure that I’m going to start and we won’t find out until lunchtime tomorrow. I played left wing back against Thurrock on Wednesday night and set up our goal before the match was abandoned, so fingers crossed.

Everyone at the club is keen to make sure that we make a good impression at Anfield so we’ll be arriving in shiny new tracksuits. We’re staying at a five-star hotel tonight as well so we’ll have no excuses if we get hammered.

If Liverpool win, we’ll hold our heads up high. If we win, I think I’ll probably explode.
