Sven-Goran Eriksson, the Manchester City manager, says he would love to sign Ronaldinho if the Brazilian leaves Barcelona this summer.
Reports this morning suggested City were weighing up an audacious bid to sign the former world footballer of the year and Eriksson hopes the rumours are true.
"It was the first time I had heard such a thing, so I really hope it is true," said Eriksson. “We would be able to find a place in our team for him, I can guarantee that.
"I will phone the owners. It was a surprise, but if they want to package Ronaldinho for me I would accept him and be very happy." Eriksson joked about signing another high-profile Brazilian, adding: "I would be happy to take Kaka at the same time!"
It is thought Ronaldinho, who is currently injured, is looking for a new club after five years at Barcelona. Roberto de Assis Moreira, his brother and agent, was given the VIP treatment at Eastlands on Saturday when City lost 2-0 to Chelsea.
However, although the 28-year-old is considered a player in decline it is thought he would still be looking for £100,000 per week before considering a move away from the Nou Camp.

The recent demise of Man City is heartbreaking. Most neutrals would have loved for them to do well this season and shake up the so called 'big four' but recent events ranging from a complete collapse in form( eg whats happened to Elano?), questions over the finances of the owner and too much fanciful transfer talk have all lead to serious damage to their credibility. From plausible contenders (who might just have been able to break into the top 4), they have been reduced to the jesters of the premiership scrambling for Intertoto football. Only Newcastle can match the farce unfolding at the Eastlands. Talk of Ronaldinhio coming to the Eastlands is clearly the punchline that the neutral football observer has had to wait for in this painful comedy. Only the most romantic and/or deluded Man city fan would believe any of it. The media hype surrounding Man City is only harming the progress of the club.
They have more basic matters at hand eg sustainable steady progress. New Chelski? No.

I think Ronaldinho will never join Manchester City Football Club. He maybe comes to Milan FC because He prefers Seire A to Premier League as he ever said!!!
