Mark Hughes, the Manchester City manager, could be without a number of key players for tomorrow's Uefa Cup match against Paris St Germain at Eastlands.
Robinho (ankle), Shaun Wright Phillips (knee) and Micah Richards (ankle) are all doubtful through injury following the defeat by Manchester United.Hughes said: "There is a prize to be had. If we are to finish top of the group that is to our benefit. Hopefully that will mean an easier draw in the last 32.
Gelson Fernandes is sidelined with a hamstring problem as City look to record their third successive win in the group.
"If we can get a positive result from this match that should be enough, and I feel we can make chances at home against any team," Hughes said. "PSG are a good side. They need a decent result but it just depends on what significance they place on this competition.
"They have changed their team in previous rounds and protected their senior players for league games."
Paul Le Guen, the PSG coach, could field a number of fringe players. Le Guen freely admits his number-one priority this season is seeing PSG finish as high up the Ligue 1 table as possible, even though his side's hopes of qualifying for the Uefa Cup last 32 are hanging by a thread.
That means the likes of Peguy Luyindula, Mateja Kezman, Fabrice Pancrate and Gregory Bourillon should start, while Claude Makelele and Ludovic Giuly should be rested.
Stephane Sessegnon misses out after scans revealed a strain to his right thigh, while midfielder Clement Chantome is also missing from the 18-man squad as he is still struggling with a back injury.
