Wayne Rooney has insisted he is not worried about his lack of goals before Manchester United's Champions League quarter-final against AS Roma.
Rooney has failed to score in his past 16 appearances in the Champions League and international football and has managed only three goals in 11 matches at club level.
"We are top of the league at the moment so I'm not really worried," Rooney said. "We are playing well and scoring goals, so that doesn't concern me.
"If I was missing chances and it cost us points, of course it would be a problem. But at the minute we are winning all our games so it doesn't deter me.
"A lot of people have been scoring goals and the defence have been brilliant as well. It is getting close to the end of the season now, we are on a great run. We have the advantage being six points ahead and it will be a tight run-in as well, but it's in our favour."
Rooney did admit that he will be disappointed if he fails to surpass his haul of last season.
"I have always said I want to improve on my previous goal tally," he added. "I scored 19 last season and I'm just looking to beat that really and do well for the team."

As a striker, personally he will be slightly frustrated for all the missing chances but as a team player he will be motivated & go all out to help (at least) ManU get the maximum points. The number of assist is equally important as scoring goals if it helps your team win matches. He can do a VanNisteroy (wait infront of the box & be a 30-goals a season striker) if he wants to but that's not helping the team either.

Rooney was spot on. He missed many chances but didnt cost the team. So he's quite safe from all the jeers (for now).
