Arsene Wenger fears the Champions League final could be decided by Lubos Michel, the referee who memorably awarded Luis Garcia's "ghost goal" in 2005.
Michel was at the centre of the highly controversial incident which was enough to see Liverpool into the Champions League final at Chelsea's expense. The Slovakian will once again be in charge tonight and the Arsenal manager says it could be the officials that decide the outcome.
"Every match is being decided on a referee's decision and I wouldn't put my house on a ref's decision," Wenger said.
"You saw in the semi-finals that every decision of the referee can influence the result. It's that fraction of a second, too difficult to decide if it's off-side or not. Is it a penalty or not? It is so tight between teams at the top in England. For me every big game has been decided by refereeing decisions."

He is not way off the mark. In fact, his comments have been proved right in the CL final. Any one remembers seeing the linesman raise the flag for a penalty when ferdinand made a head-high challenge on joe cole? Why wasn't that awarded? Wasn't that a ref mistake?

The subtle inference here is obvious. "Arsenal only won nothing this year because we were cheated by refs in big games". No Arsene, your team weren't good enough. How will Arsenal ever win anything if the manager refuses to face up to his side's failings, instead choosing to blame the referee?
Paul, London,
Let's finally put an end to the
perpetual winge from Chelsea. Mr Michel did them a favour by giving the so called ghost goal instead of awarding the stonewall penalty kick and sending Cech off. Pity the ref in the Barca-Arsenal final did not award Barca's goal and leave Lehmann on the field.
