Diego Maradona has urged Carlos Tevez to leave Manchester United and join Jose Mourinho's Inter Milan. The Argentina manager saw United ease to a 3-0 victory over Chelsea at Old Trafford on Sunday, a game in which Tevez was among the unused substitues.
The 24-year-old Argentina striker's future remains in doubt with his current loan deal due to expire at the end of the season. Last week, Tévez’s gave an interview to an Argentine radio station, in which he threatened to quit the Barclays Premier League champions unless they stopped dragging their heels over the offer of a permanent contract.
"I saw Manchester United win [3-0 against Chelsea] without Tevez. This isn't good for him," Maradona told the Corriere dello Sport. "Certain episodes are certainly bringing closer his exit. Italy and Inter in particular would be excellent solutions.
"What's more, his contract is running out, which makes it easier to change team."
It is thought United are reluctant to strike a deal with Kia Joorabchian, who owns Tevez's economic rights, and are also unwilling to match Joorabchian’s £32m valuation.
Maradona, who is in Italy to watch Inter's Italian Cup tie against Genoa at the San Siro, has also said that Atletico Madrid's Sergio Aguero, another Argentina international, should consider moving to Inter.
"What advice would I give him? To come running to Inter," Maradona added. "I can already imagine the extraordinary partnership he'd form with (Zlatan) Ibrahimovic." Aguero is in a relationship with Maradona's daughter Giannina, who is expecting his child next month.
