Cristiano Ronaldo has dismissed fresh reports linking him with a summer move to Real Madrid by insisting he wants to remain at Manchester United for years.
The Portugal winger, who will make his first appearance since being crowned Fifa World Player of the Year when United play Wigan Athletic at Old Trafford tonight, says his priority is to continue his success with United rather than move to La Liga.
Yesterday, reports in Spain claimed Ronaldo has reached a gentlemen’s agreement with Ramon Calderon, the Real president, to sign for the Spanish club in a deal that could be worth £105million. However, Ronaldo insists he is determined to be part of an exciting future at United.
"I know it will be hard but I want to achieve even more things with these great players we have at United," he said.
"We can dominate. Manchester has a lot of young players - myself included - so the future for the club looks good. I want to be here, to be a part of the success that I believe lies ahead.
"For me, it's great to be a part of this fantastic club and my motivation is to win more trophies. I'm still very ambitious. I want to carry on and repeat the success I've already had.
"I think that we can dominate for many years," Ronaldo added. "We have a lot of young players - myself included - but we have to make sure we win more trophies in the future.
United have confirmed that they will visit Indonesia for the first time as part of their four-match pre-season tour of Asia.
Although the club has visited the continent six times since 1995 and won the Club World Cup in Tokyo last month, they have never been to Indonesia. The match in Jakarta, against the Indonesia Super League Select, will be played on July 24 and forms the third leg of a four-leg trip that begins in China on July 18.
United will conclude their tour against a Malaysia XI in Kuala Lumpur on July 26. David Gill, the United chief executive, said the club was happy to give supporters a chance to see the team in action.
"Our tours to Asia are always special," he said. "The atmosphere generated by the supporters is amazing. The club enjoys unrivalled support across the continent and it is great to have a chance to give those fans the opportunity to see their heroes in action in their own country."
