Sulley Muntari has underlined his commitment to Portsmouth this season by insisting he is happy at Fratton Park - and targeting European qualification.

Muntari, a record £7.1 million signing from Italian side Udinese, has attracted reported interest from clubs including Liverpool and Arsenal, but the Ghana international said his immediate aims are with Portsmouth.

"I'm happy here and enjoying my football," he said. "I'm happy with the performances from me and the team. I don't care if people don't recognise me. If they recognise Pompey that's great."

Muntari, 23, will miss a part of the season when he plays for his country at the African Nations Cup, and Harry Redknapp will also lose Kanu, John Utaka and Papa Bouba Diop.

But despite this, Muntari feels European qualification remains within Portsmouth's grasp.

"We're aiming for Europe because we have good players and a good manager," he added. "We have a way to go but we have the players, the ability - everything you need to be there.

"We have a lot of work to do still but we are planning to be in the top positions. If we keep playing and training well I seriously believe we can do it."
