Stoke City have completed their fourth signing of the summer after Amdy Faye joined the Premier League new-boys for an undisclosed fee.

The 31-year-old Senegal international has joined Stoke on a 12-month deal after impressing during training while on a week-long trial with the club. Faye has been handed the No 19 shirt and is available for the club's Barclays Premier League opener against Bolton Wanderers at the Reebok Stadium.

"He's very strong and athletic, and he has important experience at the top level we can call upon," Tony Pulis, the Stoke manager, said.

"I've liked the look of him in training and also liked his attitude in the few days he's been with us. I think he did well in the short time he was on the pitch in last week's friendly against Osasuna."
