Rangers reject Kris Boyd offer

Rangers have rejected an offer for Kris Boyd, the Scotland forward.

The Glasgow club have not revealed which club has made the bid, however reports this morning had suggested Cardiff City were prepared to offer £2.5 million for the 24-year-old.

"In light of media reports today, Rangers Football Club can confirm we have received a bid for striker Kris Boyd which was rejected," a statement from Rangers read.

Cardiff could be willing to up their offer, with Dave Jones, the manager, keen to see Boyd link up with former Rangers players Steven Thompson and Gavin Rae.

The Scotland international scored 25 goals for Rangers last season despite making just 23 starts and played a major role in the club's cup double.
