Follow all the action as it happened in Brazil here:
Lewis Hamilton's dream of becoming the first driver to win the Formula One world championship in his debut season ended in disappointment in Brazil this afternoon.
Hamilton, who made a disastrous start, could only finish seventh, with the world title going to Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen, who drove an immaculate race to emerge the victor at Interlagos. Fernando Alonso was third and Hamilton, his McLaren team-mate, a distant seventh. The Finn finished the season with 110 points, one more than the two McLaren drivers, who had dominated for the majority of the season but been unable to deliver when it really mattered.
Hamilton's race was run in the early stages, the 22-year-old a victim of his own inexperience. Starting second on the grid, the young Briton was overtaken within seconds of the light going green first by Ferrari's Raikkonen and then Alonso, his two rivals for the world title.
Understandably panicked, he tried to retake his team-mate around the outside of turn four and locked the front wheels, skidding off the track and having to rejoin the race in eighth.
Having fought his way up to sixth, his engine started to cut out on lap seven of 71 and he was overtaken by a host of cars, dropping down to 18th some 40 seconds behind the leaders. It later emerged the problem was with the gearbox and had been concerning Hamilton's mechanics before the start.
All the title contenders pitted once at just after quarter distance, Hamilton being the last to do so, on lap 21, changing his tyres for the softest compound possible - a risky strategy - and adding enough fuel for only a further 15 laps.
The McLaren driver, generally faultless for the majority of this season, again showed his inexperience on lap 29, pushing his way past Rubens Barrichello on the inside of a tight hairpin, the Brazilian sensibly giving way rather than cut in and take the world championship leader out. Hamilton pitted twice more, for fresh tyres and more fuel, but he was unable to make an impact or reach the the fifth position he needed to take the world title.
Hamilton had taken a four-point lead over Alonso into the final grand prix at Interlagos, with Raikkonen a further three points adrift of the Spaniard, the first time in 21 years there had been a three-way battle for the world title at this ultimate stage of the season.
Hamilton will be regretting he spurned the chance to wrap things up in China a fortnight ago when he spun into a gravel trap and was forced to withdraw for the first time in his career.
Even so, the man from Stevenage claimed going into this grand prix that there was less pressure on him and that he was determined to finish the job. He may be regretting those words after losing his head at the start. England could certainly have done with a lift after defeats for the rugby and football teams over the past four days, but Hamilton went on to complete an unwanted hat-trick.

Congratulations, Raiko! you deserve it.
Congratulations, Alonso! After fighting against your own team, and under a never seen before pressure, and a huge personal discredit campaign, yo finished only 1 point after the crown.
Congratulations, Hamilton! you are an awesome driver and probably the best ever rookie.
Dennis... shame on you! You really did a crap job. Your glaring incompetence, your fishy maneuvers, your endless superbia and your astonishing clumsiness made to:
Loose the nº1
Damage the honesty of the nº1
Unnecessarily create enemies to your rookie and aspirant nº1.
Loose the Teams Championship.
Face up to the biggest fine in F1, an enormous ammount of mony that your company has to pay.
Yes, you should be ashamed. Please, retire yourself, If lucky, people in Costa del Sol will forget easily what you did to an honest spanish fellow.
And the last: the most exciting race I´ve ever seen.
Good luck to you too, Ed.
Pino, madrid,
ron dennis: u didn´t want a first and a second driver.now you have a second and a third (with same points.................JAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJA)
U didn´t respect a 2times champion.
now you have NOTHING..........
what vill you do next year only with ham and daddy?????
raulin, valencia, spain
Ron Denis said. "we are not figthin with kimi..... only with Fernando" Good for kimi....... Will Ron Denis present his dimission??????? Alain Prost said the true: without Ron Denis Alonso was the champion 3 weeks ago......... God save the Queen and save Hamilton and Ron.....
Berni said: "I dont want who Kimi or Fernando win..." Good for kimoi again............. FERNANDO go out of this crazy englihs team......... come back to Renault.........
Vicente, Madrid,
Impressive!
Thanks to Ron Dennis betting for Hamilton and forgetting about THE TWO TIMES CHAMPION OF THE WORLD who took to McLaren (yes, that english team that hasnt won anything in a huuuuge period of time) the #1....Ferrari has won everything.
Could someone post here a picture of Hamilton´s dad or Ron Dennis after the race? :)
Is that the famous english strategy?
PUXA ALONSO!!!
Jorge Fernandez, Alicante, SPAIN
I am happy things came out, it is absolutely embarrasing for Mr Dennis and mr Haug, if i was them i would definetely quit the job. Justice did its job, and put everybody where they diserved, in the loosing position of course. I am sad because Alonso did not get it in the end, but this will teach McLaren managers how to properly manage a team and drivers in the following years, they know zero about this issue. TOTAL EMBARRASEMENT, that is the due headline for tomorrow
jo, MADRID, ESPAÃA
Well done Ron!!.
Hammilton's daddy, guachi, guachi
McLaren, Ron Dennis, Lewis Hamilton and his father have made us laugh... Congratulations, losers...
Massa, Rome, Italy
McLaren, Bravo
Denis, Bravo
Bravo, I don't not why?
Denys, you know why
Gald, alicante, spain
ja, ja, ja... just only a dream... like this year... don't try to take on too much Alonso had to have to win.
Mary, Valencia, spain
I am happy because Hamilton did not win and, what is more, because he has clearly showed that he was not ready to win the Championship.
After a season full of cheating and favouritism,
I think (as many Spaniards do) that McClaren and Mr Denis have now what they deserve. Empty hands. Anyway, I must say that Lewis is a great pilot and surely we will be on the top places during his whole career.
Eventually, in my opion, this has been a fantastic example of the advantages of quietness and non-stop work, specially dedicated to Mr Denis and Mr Ecclestone.
Best Regards.
SAN GANCHAO, San Sebastian, Spain
Congratulations Mclaren, Congratulations Ron Dennis: just prize.
Heineken, Jaen, Spain
Congratulations Kimi. Overall, the best driver won and ofcourse it was in a Scuderia. McLaren and their drivers have damaged Formula 1 and Hamilton, whilst a rookie must take part of the blame for his politics and actions. Hopefully, next year the drivers will stay the same and we can see a proper fight on the track and not in the courts or media.
hamad Lone, Expat-Brit, Middle East
¡¡¡¡CONGRATULATIONS MCLAREN!!!!
From Spain with love ;)...
ROMEO, Madrid, Spain
congratulations mclaren, ron dennis and hamilton. XDDD que pringaos sois los ingleses.
carlos, segovia, españa
The powers that be in f1, a British youngest world champion? don`t think so because there are a few powers that be that did not want that to happen, ie bernie wanted kimi to win in the pre race chat with martin, then what happens the long shot wins?, mclaren have a gremlin in lewis`s car not alonso`s (with the old engine) just long enough to put him out of touch with the front runners then all of a sudden it starts up again.
Like china, Mclaren are highly exerienced in f1 aren`t they? , "tyre degredation" even my wife who deosn`t like or know anything about the sport noticed that, we cannot have a british driver rivalling the greats now can we, FIA ( ferrari international assistance?), i could go on and on but i am running out of characters, cheers steve ( F1 follower for 17 yrs).
steve, rotherham,
McLaren has wasted an unique chance to win the championship, favouring an novice and pulling Alonso's leg several times during the season, when he was the pilot who brought the no. 1 to McLaren.
Ron Dennis, whose face hasn't been shown on TV during all race, should think about what kind of person he is, and Hamilton's pride hace received a well-deserved lesson.
As Alonso said at the end of the race: the championship hasn't been lost on this final race. Maybe McLaren should have been protected one or two more points on prior races.
McLaren, Hamilton and Dennis have made the most infamous ridiculous we'll ever see, as English press did, and it's still little thing for what they deserved.
Congratulations, Kimi.
Garciafigueres, Valencia, Spain
farce on the track, farce off the track and bitter spanish correspondents. who'd have guessed?
f1 is a circus, not a sport.
dennis has always been clear about giving equal status to his drivers. even though it may have cost his team an individual championship, we are talking about principle - and what dennis has done is right. f1 is a constructors' championship and mcclaren would be champions if not for off-track events and, dare one say, pro-ferrari bias at the fia.
spanish idiots may laugh at mcclaren winning nothing, but then they, like alonso, care only about alonso; not the team. irrespective of points scored and decisions taken behind closed doors, one thing is clear - hamilton was a better driver than alonso this year. if not for the team decision to keep him out three laps too long on dodgy tyres and then gearbox failure, hamilton would be way ahead and champion. not that it matters - the whole championship is a fix anyway. ferrari and mcclaren should be banned.

Kimi's a deserving winner. It would have been good for Lewis to win because he would show up most of the drivers on the track that shouldn't be in F1. Why did McLaren not run Lewis longer second stint and fuel fuel him longer at the second stop to finish the race? Bad tactics?
Ian, Durban, South Africa
Hamilton is a good rookie.
He have done the thing with his own rookie style.
Ron let Hamilton let him make hundreds mistakes
Hamilton will never forget thi lesson... "Been a champion is not to go faster than the rest of the drivers.. is something else"
Octavio, Canaries,
If Alonso has been thirth with a team against him all the season,I can not imagine what Alonso could to do in Ferrari next year
Congrats Raiko and thanks a lot Ron
Antonio, Milano, Italy
Another great win for Ferrari.
My respect and solidarity to all the Spanish people and Alonso.
See you all again next year!
Joseph, London,
Congratulations to Kimmi and Ferrari.
Ron, before giving more lessons to the world, may be you can read a dictionary to learn wat does the word TEAM mean. If not you can ask Ferrari...
Congrats to Lewis also, you've beaten Alonso, which was your main objective. You must be happy so. You are as good in the road as in the offices...
Santiago, Madrid,
McLaren, worst strategy in the world. Horrible example to see
since open perspective.
Manuel, Barcelona,
Hamilton didn´t deserve to win...that is a fact. He does not know how to set up his own car, he is inexperienced and proud, he makes rookie mistakes which would later cost him the title in two separed races. He lost the title in China and again in Brazil. He didn´t deserve to win or to have such a great car. Hopefully next season Alonso won´t be in Mclaren and Hamilton will finally emerge as the incompetent rookie he is.
Alejandro, Barcelona, Spain
Congratulations Ferrari. Justice was done. Hamilton keep out the F1. Alonso next year, try to win them..........
leo, Málaga, Spain
Ron Dennis, has absolutely no respect for the sport.
Congrats Kimi
Carmen , Madrid, Spain
Little Hamilton... what happened?!?!?!?
I'm still laughing!!! :)
Kimi is the best
Lawrence, Barcelona,
You do not know the sportsmanship if you are not able to see the injustices that McLaren and Hamilton have committed against Alonso. Congratulations Ferrari
Rafa, Sevilla, España
What a lot of vindictive, spiteful whingers there are on here, especially from Spain! This is Sport. Look up Sportsman (ship) in the Dictionary, you may learn something useful.
Ann, Oxfordshire, England,
Where is Ron??? and Lewis??? and Dady??? ... They have nothing to say now?.
Is maybe in some office preparing real end of this sports world?...Or an honorable exit from McLaren.
Congratulations to Ferrari that has proved to be the best TEAM of the world.
Fran, Seville, Spain
Ron Dennis, the poor litlle thing... Please, DO NOT TAKE IT OUT ON POOR HIM... but
You are gulity to play every trick of the trade, legal or illegal, to give Hamilton better opportunities than Alonso ever had with your ridiculous management.
Congrats to Kimmi. Justice was done. Ron Dennis discredited McLaren Mercedes team.
Angel, Madrid, Spain
We have to thank Ron Dennis and his circle, this is the best gift they could have done to Ferrari. This is the result of favoring a rookie only because he is English, sorry sir, that is no way to treat a twice champion.
I hope Fernando can get away of that hell.
Mayte, Paris,
Congratulations Denis!!you win the fast tittle!!
Angela , Barcelona, Spain
Hamilton has time and team on his side. He's consistent and fast, two important facts for qualifying which to a great extent pre-ordain much of F1 points in this day and age. He also happens to be in one of the two competitive marques of the 2007 season.
China was a driver error. The team may have gotten the tyre strategy wrong but there's no need to 1) go full out with that many points in hand, 2) chance it with Kimi in wet conditions and knackered tyres and 3) not crawl into the pit lane knowing about your tyres and knowing that the entry would be much slicker due to lack of traffic.
How good a F1 driver? This season he hasn't had to deal with any adversity. Qualifying well up on the grid and further, until Interlagos, has not had any significant mechanicals. A dream season both from a reliability perspective and again driving on of only 2 competitive marques in this year's field. How he handles adversity will show me if he's a great F1 driver. Congrats to Kimi the Iceman
Calvin Lee, Shanghai, PRC
If Hamilton and the FIA had not punished Alonso for following team orders in Hungaroring, Alonso would have had the points neede to win the championship.
I am happy that Hamilton did not win the world championship. It has been very sad the advantages he has had.
Congratulations to Raikkonen!!!
pedro, Pamplona, España
In life you can behave in many different ways, but there's one way you should never behave: being ungrateful. Ron Dennis&Lewis Hamilton & Mc Laren team & mercedes benz have been very ungrateful with Fernando and his tremendous work, turning a 4rth row car into a champion one...well, there's his reward !!!
frank, ny, usa
The only good thing about today's results is at least Alonso didn't win the championship. The comments on this message board would have been unbearable. Who cares whether Lewis Hamilton's father has helped him get where he is? I'm sure golden boy Fernando has had help as well. I've never read so much whinging drivel in all my life. Let's all just be sporting about this stuff. Well done Kimi, hard luck Lewis and Fernando.
Jonny, Norwich, England
Congratulations for Lewis Hamilton extraordinary pilot in the day today and Ron Dennis vultures.Excellent equipe of formula one, strategic incredible ten points for clasification in the championship and Lewis world champion formula one. We'll have to pull outs the weeds of world champion Hamilton. From of Spain (Córdoba) mi name is Fran
Fran, Córdoba, Spain
Finland, the fastiest country in the world. Well done Kimi!
Jorma Lahteenmaki, Saarijarvi, Finland
Brazil proved that between Alonso and Hamilton, Hamilton is the faster driver. Poor Alonso wouldn't even have made it to the podium if Hamilton hadn't taken that silly gamble and then had trouble with his car, perhaps as a result. But that's what rookies do. Alonso can look forward to an uphill battle as Hamilton gains experience and stops making beginner's mistakes that let Alonso best him.
Kudos to Kimi for a job well done!
Oh!! -- I just read that the championship points are now in question due to an inquiry into fuel temps with BMW Sauber and Williams. Although an unfavorable outcome would hand the title to LH, I hope they decide to let Kimi keep the championship. Of all of them, he deserves it most.
Mary, Florida, USA,
Congratulations for Kimi. And have you guys seem how ferrary works? Kimi won because Ferrari wanted Kimi to win. Because he is the first driver and all the strategic worked around him and the goal the team had to fulfill.
Now, Ron should think about it. Ron should think how he lost this championship. And no. It wasn´t because of Brasil. It was because his way of doing things. It was because his lack of authority thinking that his drivers would work everything out.
Alex, Oviedo, Spain
Regards from Spain for Ron Dennis and Hamilton. The year that comes if Mclaren wants to win that bets for an authentic winner: Fernando Alonso
Mecamuse, Sevilla, España
Excellent team management, Mr. Dennis. You trusted Lewis Hamilton, who has proven not able to bear pressure. Had you trusted Alonso, McLaren would have won the Championship.
jesus, madrid, spain
Hamilton diserved that, Alonso not. He's still the best driver but the McLaren boicot has played him bad. I'm happy McLaren made this ridiculous, they diserved it. And a lot more that Lewis lost, that's orgasmic haha.
Bala, Barcelona, Spain
Why are so many people from so many nations such bad sportsmen?
Congrats to Kimi, a well deserved first championship.
Well done Lewis, for a brilliant rookie year, and to Alonso, for an unlucky year in which both he and his teammate were buried in politics for much of it, let your driving do the talking and leave the talking to those who do it better.
Paul Scofield, Milton Keynes, UK
I'm very, very happy, because today was fulfilled the law of karma: what is being done is paid.
Stop lying to the world, the British are not correct or good guys, quite the contrary. I hope serve as a warning.
Ron Dennis has to think clearly on their way to carry the team on the theoretical equality that seeks to give their pilots. Because at the moment of truth is the champion Raikkonen .And this result makes it clear that the strategy of Ron Dennis has failed. McLaren remains without a constructor and pilots tittle. And the Capricious child, Lewis Hamilton, had to settle for runners-up after two races, China and Brazil, unfortunate.
Ale Deliat, Barcelona, Spain
Both Hamilton and McLaren made a mistake. Hamilton´s was that he tried to get back at Alonso and missed the curve, when he got back he was in eighth. McLaren´s was to give 3 pit stops for Hamilton. If he had done only 2, he possibly could end in fifth or fourth.
But no doubt we´ll still hear a lot from Hamilton.
Paulo Campos Filho, Maringá, Brazil - PR
Alonso gave you his experience and a great car and your bloody favoritism gives the title to Ferrari. Great job Dennis!!! Hope you learn to plan race strategies and treat your drivers fairly in the years to come.
F1 fans in Los Angeles, USA
Natalie, Los Angeles, CA
Ron Congratulations for your management. You have a champion of the world and has treated as a rookie. You have a rokie and has treated as a world champion. Now the world champion is in Ferrari. Alonso leaves these losers and go to Ferrari. Força Ferrari and Força the latin power.
latin power, mediterranean town, spai
Boss Don said "I will not have a first pilot"...Boy!!!! .... you got it. I hope he will lead a lessons learned exercise on this fiasco. I am sure that Lewis will be a champion sooner or later. But today Alonso, Felipe and Kimi were way better than him. The four of them deserve a lot of respect. I am not so sure about that on Don (because his lack of ability leading the team). What are the sponsors going to think realizing that there are aficionados being happy that better not to have a champion ...if the other is out? That's embarrassing.
Raul Abril, San Diego, CA, USA
Now at the end of this annus horribilis for McClaren team, we do appreciate the wrong politic of Ron Dennis.
Only a united team can reach the victory.
Jorge, Sevilla, Spain
Destiny, Mr. Dennis. When somebody like you plan to give better opportunities to Hamilton because your favoritism, you should know cheating Alonso is not the way. If Alonso wouldn't be pusnished to the fifth place (a few races back) because its own partner (Hamilton), Alonso would have been World Champion not in Brazil, probably in China or Japan.
That's life. Don't talk about equity, after this season nobody trust on the way you and your team do things abou this matter.
McLaren just have what They deserve it
Carlos, Barcelona,
I totally agree with Vincent. Fair play always wins. I hope Mclaren bosses have learnt the lesson.Alonso shoud have won but no doubt he will be the champion next year. And by the way, even if Hamilton won then,he wouldn´t be the youngest world champion because Alonso won his first title when he was 23.
Natalia, GIJON, SPAIN
Dennis, your boy has been suspended...
S@nti, C. Real, Spain
It's a pity to read from some people that Alonso has been average. I would be glad to see you running against the world, against your boss. In fact, one point opposite McLaren makes Alonso the winner.
Alfred, Madrid, Spain
You folks from Spain are unbelievable! Wouldn't you have wanted Alonso to be champion? Well done Lewis, you've had a great season! Congrats to Kimi and many more championships to come! You are the best!
Joe Mulligan, London, UK
Congratulations Ron Dennis, I'm sure you will never forget this year. Great Job.

Well, I am happy Hamilton did not win, and McLaren did not win... Remembering Hungary at this moment... Alonso would be the champion, so Hamilton is the guilty of the McLarens's failure. God exists!!.
fran, Alcoy,
jajajajajajajajajajajaajaja congratulations. Alonso could be the world champion today ... remember when Hamilton told the organicers how he was stopped by Alonso in the pit lane. It was his own team who stopped Alonso ... Alonso was released 5 positions.
Mclaren you got what you deserve ... NOTHING
javier, madrid, españa
i'm happy that hamilton did not win, he would have not deserved it with so much help from outside and i'm sure he learned the lesson... but the big lesson i'm sure it was for mclaren/mercedes... you get at the end what you deserve and hamilton+mclaren have deserved to be the loosers, big loosers, stupid loosers and the arrogant looser looses twice. now it's time for mclaren to think about and probably to hide for a while... hopefully fernando finds a better working place for the next season
santiago otamendi, pamplona, spain
Dennis is guilty for supporting a brat that even dared to report his own team to the IAF (Hungary). Things would have probably been rather different in case Alonso had kept the pole at that race.
Congratulations McLaren Mercedes Vodaphone, you have lost everything.
Flavio Vibratore, DONOSTIA, Spain
Alonso has been very ellegant after loosing the world title. McLaren decided to give number 1 to Hamilton and it has been a clear mistake. In the start today Alonso shows all of us that he is much better than LH. If McLaren had worked fairly with him this year he´d be the champion.
Maybe F-1 next year will have only LH as a pilot, just for Dennis, Ecclestone, FIA and british media pleasure. They`ve done all kinds of dirty jobs this year and even though the´ve lost.
..What is going to say Lauda now?
Marco, Gijon,
Chandra, you have no idea about formula one...Alonso has been generally average?.........he has been twice world champion in four attempts, Kimi once in eight attemps.
And now we'll see who's the crying boy...I tell you, Ron Dennis....all his fault
Toni, Barcelona, Spain
Well, I am happy Hamilton did not win. I feel really upset for it I equip Mercedes, which it will be remembered for crooked and for treating your pilots of different form.
The time puts the people in her site.
Sorry for my English.
Thx
Javier, Barcelona, Spain
Dear Mr.Longmore,
don't make laughing.Mr.Hamllton lost his momentum.He
wil never will win what he lost.
Bruno Benzi, cesena, italy
It's not Hamilton's driving that is the problem, it's Mclaren's mistakes as a team that cost him the Championship. I'm glad however that Alonso didn't take it.
Rory, Manchester, UK
equality is:
Hamilton 109 points = Alonso 109 points
Go Dennnis go, go dennis go,...
¡Ferrari are the champions, they are the championsssssss, of the world!
God job Dennis, look yourself at the mirror.
One of Vigo, Vigo, Spain
Well, I am happy Hamilton did not win and what more he finished just seventh. Ja Ja Ja. The haughty McLaren team ruins the championship. Alonso rules!!!.
Alonzoist, Samarcanda,
Mr Ron Dennis once again,CONGRATULATIONS, at least be a gentelman in the end and let Alonso go to a team that really deserve a champ. You just deserve what has happened to you-
ALVARO, Madrid, Spain
Where were Dennis and papa hamilton today? There u are what u earned yourselves. I hope Alonso leaves that "team" and , of course, I will never buy a Mercedes
Mikelaitor, madrid, Spain
Dennis... your time is out... You do not know how to manage a F1 Team. That's what you deserve.

Congratulations Ferrari!

It's Ralf, not Ralph.
Kathrin, Rosenheim,
nice job Ron! Well done England! satuday was a black day and sunday another black day!
George, Wasinhton, USA
Good thing the championship is over. Alonso will finally be able to get away from McLaren and just do his job (as, I remind you, he did the last two years, when he was -some seem to have forgotten- World Champion), instead of having to fight with everyone, especially with a spoiled kid who found out today that his Daddy and Daddy Dennis will not always be there to clear the way for him.
Oh, and congratulations to Raikkonen.
Laura, Madrid, Spain
Dennis: Job done. Fernando has not won the championship
cheli, Nito del bosque,
Still cannot believe what just happened. I guess pressure was too much for rookie Hamilton.
Unforgetable season for Kimi, Hamilton and Mclaren! Thanks Kimi!!
Ville Henttonen, Espoo, Finland
Alonso the best, Mclaren down !!!
Jiony, Jaen, Spain
hamilton and Mclaren = MAFIA, the next year ALONSO in reanult1 kimi in ferrari 2 and hamilton return to GP2
xeito, barcelona, catalonia
If Mclaren had supported Alonso as to the newbie Hamilton, he would have been the champion several races ago but they preferred a british champion so now Mclaren has what deserves, also for being cheaters even blaming Alonso for theis errors.
Pablo, Vitoria, Spain
My view is quite different from previous ones. You deserve what you got!
You should have treated a former F1 World Champion in a very different way. After all McLaren have reached this point thanks to his expertise.
Ask Sir Dennis about what has happened this year with his drivers. He should be penalized and fired.
On the contrary I am quite sorry for both drivers Alonso & Hamilton, especially for Alonso and the way he has been treated this year!
You are going to miss him next year.
Juan Alberto Martin, El Sauzal, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain
I'm so happy, McLaren deserved this ridiculous end, a nice example of how to ruin an excelent oportunity to rule F1, I'm happy Kimi wins if not Fernando
Justice does exist!!!
Miau, Granada, Spain
Congrats Ron. You always get what you give. Now we're going to see how Lewis Hamilton manages himself next year. ALONE... With all the pressure and without any help nor an evil enemy to complain of.
And McLaren has shown itself as a complete disaster. Triple hit on the face: Raikonen (former driver of the squad) champion, Hamilton showing his lacks, and the most solid Alonso leaves the team.
Marc Sales, Barcelona, Catalonia
So you finish third Spaniards, where is the joy in that? We are happy that Alonso did not win. Well done Kimi
Alfaz del Pi, Portsmouth, England
What a bunch of crap. The best man won. Period. No long living memory for second place.
Joao, Manama, Bahrain
HA HA HA
Hamilton I mean
Inaki, Terrassa, Spain
No comments? where are the Hamilton fans now?
Well, it's better to let him cry in daddy Ron's arms...
Daniel, Barcelona, España
Lewis Hamilton coming second in his first season is actually a great result. Coming to new circuits via a Playstation and then winning them, or getting podiums, suggests that he is, and will be, an exceptional driver. He should learn from his mistakes and translate his newfound experience into a cool-headed win next year. Well done LH and well done Kimi.
Joe_M, Bristol,
Does anyone have any pic of Ron Dennis today?
Pedro, Denia, Spain
Congratulation McLaren you did well in your equality game, you lost the championship bacause your greed, Ron.
Alonso is the best driver and Ferrari the best team, soon they will together.
Jose, Madrid, Spain
McLaren, who have ended a torrid season with nothing! HAHAHA! McLaren and Baby Hamilton have what they deserve: NOTHING. Alonso, with his OWN team against him finished second just one point behind the champion. Congratulations Raikkonen! You are a great driver and FIA has not been helping you every race during the season.
ALONSO is THE BEST driver.
Avalon, Roma, Italy
You need a Finn to win!!!
The winner takes it all!!!!
Henrik, Espoo, Finland
McLaren has lost its only chance to win world championship. They had a real champion between their people, but they thought rich-boy Hamilton were be able to became a F-1 pilot. The next time they will trust in Alonso.
Español, Valencia, Spain
Congratulations to Dennis, Hamilton, and his father. Nobody works better for Ferrari
Jean Todd, Maranello, Italy
Hamilton you and Ron Denis got what you deserve !!!!!!!!!!! Justice exists !!!!!!!!!!!!
Nuria, Bilbao, Pais Vasco
Mr. Dennis, MacLaren, this is the result to don´t work as a team. Ferrari did it and, now, they are worldcahmpion. Lessons learned!!
MANUEL, NARON, SPAIN
Congratulations Kimi!!! Good job Mr.Dennis, Hamilton´s father and MAFIA...
Luis, Madrid, Spain
Ron Dennis had a thoroughbred in his stable, but he bet on a pony... I think the gentleman is now a wiser man.
fernando III, Bilbao, Spain
HAHAHAHAHAHAH!
I am so happy for KIMI! He really deserves to be the world Champion!
I wish It were The great DOUBLE CHAMPION FERNANDO ALONSO to be the Champion, but if he could not make it (Ron`s Fault), Kimi deserves it much more than Mr. Hamilton!
CONGRATULATIONS KIMI!
CONGRATULATIONS FERRARI!
Congratulations Mr. Ron Dennis!

Though Iam happy for Raikkonen in winning the world championship, I am sad at all the troubles and monetary losses, my favourite team, Mclaren had to face this season. How is it that Hamilton 's car was slowing down off and on through out the race? Is there a black sheep in their crew? A thorough screening is a must before Mclaren launches into the 2008 season.

I am happy not to have seen towards Hamilton and his potato

Finally it's over .... & without suggestions coming from inside, the best car has brought a good driver to win the championship. Let's hope in a fairer championship next year.

Ron Dennis lost this championship. Do you remember that Alonso's sanction in Hungary?. You (Dennis) could be the champion, but you didn't give any chance to Alonso.

Congratulations, McLaren. Great job

Well done to Kimi but it may have been so different if Ferrari were treated the same way as Mclaren for running an ilegal car in Australia, but hey Bernie and Max never penalise Ferrari do they.
And i am a Scot so don't really favour Hamilton

Great season for Hamilton. Besides losing the title all by himself trying to regain a position he didn't need, the Hungary fiasco costed his team both championships (McLaren finished within one point in both constructors and driver's, even though the first one was already lost to a sanction). Nice team play.

Congratulations, Mr. Ron Dennis!!! Ferrari didn't win the championship: IT WAS YOU WHO LOST IT!!
You preferred to trust in a kid without experience rather than trust in the world champion, now you know the results: we dedicate this defeat to YOU - only to YOU.

Good job Mr. Ron Dennis. Beautiful gift to Ferrari.

Well, I am happy Alonso did not win and what more he finished just third. If he were even second in the race,he would have been an undeserving Champion, having been generally average and nowhere near the standards he set last year.
Full marks to Kimi.He kept to his job of driving and not whingeing.
