What did you make of the verdict?
Well, it may be a victory for Max Mosley, but it has come within the very narrow confines of those who elected him. What you have to remember is that this in no way reflects the wider view of him around the sport.
Is there any way Mosley can continue to perform his role as president with any credibility?
The FIA members have taken their opportunity to express their views on the
issue and whatever anyone thinks they have made a decision to endorse him.
The question really is whether he can continue in the role as president with
any kind of success. Maybe an indication of his views on that is that he has
already agreed to hand over some of his power to two deputy presidents and
that's because he thinks he will be unable to do his job properly.
Does this decision mean there will be a breakdown in relations between the FIA
and Formula One?
The two big issues to come out of this are whether the clubs will remain in
the FIA and how this will affect the relationship with Formula One. I
believe the clubs are planning to meet to discuss that today, while
relations between Mosley and Bernie Ecclestone are extremely difficult. But
it's not just Ecclestone, it's also the other owners in Formula One, they
don't want Mosley. It remains to be seen how they react to this.
You said if Mosley stayed it would be a recipe for paralysis. What did you
mean by that?
It goes back to what I have said about Formula One. The FIA plays a massive part in Formula One but the sponsors don't want Mosley and nor do the teams or the nations that host the Grands Prix. So one wonders how it will impact on the sport and the industry. Formula One needs to make a decision on what to do now.
Why do you think the FIA decided to back him?
You have to remember that Mosley has been in his position since 1993, he has been re-elected three times and he is the consummate politician and has built up a huge amount of support. He is extremely powerful and what he has done is called on his colleagues to support him today. The FIA is a strange organisation, the weight attached to each vote does not represent the size of each body and Max has used quirks like that to his advantage.

The opposition to Mosely was always more to to with his bias as President of the Ferrari International Assistance (FIA) body than the orgy.

The gutless FIA. How many countries that supported him want to hold a Grand Prix one day? How many others are frightened that they will be punished just like everyone else that stands up to the man?
Congratulations Germany for standing up and being counted. The UK? No - they want to keep their GP.
John, Bedford, England
Given the power Max Mosley has at his disposal I think congratulations should go to Ed Gorman for sticking to his guns and not following the party line enforced in F1. Regardless of what MM did in his own privacy, his continuing presence is massively damaging to motorsport. Fact.

Who needs the FIA. Who needs Mosely. Time for F1 to re-group, re-generate and re-fresh. Bernie, the Teams, sponsors, organisers and tracks etc only need each other and the support of the public. If they continue to put on a 'show' the public will turn up and support it, with or without the FIA.
Colin, Brisbane, Australia
Prediction The core of constructors, engine manufacturers, circuit owners and major clubs will breakaway and with Ecclestone and the CVC The breakaway group will launch a new race series with a name such as Premier League. F1 will will become Formula Ferrari and with the FIA fade to oblivion.
Andy MacFadyen, Blantyre, Scotland
I think your last sentence says it all. Who are the 103 countries who voted for him? What part do they play in international motor sport? Voting within the FIA clearly needs to be weighted according to how much each country participates in international motorsport. The vote as it stands is a sham.

"this in no way reflects the wider view of him around the sport."
IMO this says it all. Those who don't like Mosely are using this to as an excuse to undermine him despite the fact that it has *nothing* to do with F1.
THAT brings F1 into disrepute more than anything MM might have done.

Its all going perfickly to plan ..as Dell-Boy would say ...this way he can unravel the Concorde Agreement from inside instead of outside and preside over a disintegrating empire which most of the commercial world will snub and turn its back. He mustve called
