Johnson took the outright lead with a birdie at No. 13, his 11th birdie of the week on the par 5s without ever going for the green in two. He birdied the 14th and 16th holes to extend his lead, and finished with a 69 for a two-shot victory over Woods, Retief Goosen and Rory Sabbatini. He finished at 1-over 289, the first player since 1956 the Masters champion was over par.

Ten years ago: Mark O'Meara birdied the last two holes for a one-shot victory over David Duval and Fred Couples.
