Tiger Woods is confident he will be fit to play in the US Open at Torrey Pines next month.

The World No 1 has expressed his boredom during his rehabilitation from arthroscopic knee surgery, but claims that he is "on schedule" for the year's second major which starts on June 12.

"The rehab is working," he said. "It gets really old riding that bike, but everything is on schedule."

Woods has not played since finishing second to Trevor Immelman at the Masters at Augusta National last month, after which he underwent the operation on his left knee - the third time the injury has required surgery.

The 32-year-old has already withdrawn from this week's Memorial tournament and claims he will not participate in next week's Stanford St Jude Championship.

"I started my practice just recently," he said. "So going to Memorial that rusty, it wouldn't have made any sense. I didn't hit all my shots I needed to hit yet at home and make sure everything is organised.

"No sense in going there not ready."
