Are you looking forward to returning to Royal Birkdale for the Open? Erik Erikson, Liverpool.
Justin Rose: I really am. It's going to be an exciting week for me because it's ten years since I finished fourth there as a 17-year-old amateur. Now I'm returning as I'd always hoped to - as a top ten player in the world and the European No.1. It will nice to go there and believe I have a chance to win the tournament.
During a final round, do you look at the leaderboard? James Tornos.
Justin Rose: Yes I do. I try to keep up to date with the event, but ultimately the goal is to stay in your own bubble.
I read that the rough isn't as long as usual this week. Do you believe the course favours the big hitters or is keeping it straight as important as it normally is at the US Open? John.
Justin Rose: Good question. I think this course does suit a long hitter. The rough is penal, but if you're going out of it with an eight or nine-iron, you have a chance. You won't be able to do it, say, with a three or four-iron.
It's a long course with three par fives but if you are a long hitter, they are all reachable. That is definitely an advantage.
If you and Tiger were 260 yards out, tied for the lead on a par five 72nd hole, would you prefer to play first to apply pressure or wait to see whether your opponent makes an error? Martin Kelly.
Justin Rose: That's an interesting thought. I think it depends on whether you feel comfortable with the shot facing you. If it's 240 yards over water to the front of the green, with 20 yards to the pin, that would be the perfect three-wood yardage for me. I'd imagine it's a perfect five-wood for Tiger. It's almost certain that he's going to go for it, which gives him a good chance of making a birdie. So for that reason, I think I'd probably like to play first on the assumption that I've got to get a birdie and maybe put a bit of pressure on him.
I am 46-years-old and find walking a long, hilly course tiring. Do you get ever get fatigued during a tournament, to the point where it affects your play? Greg Iovacchini, Ontario, Canada.
Justin Rose: Only in extremely hot conditions. I think nutrition is as important as anything. If I'm playing a five-hour round and I don't drink enough water or eat enough food, I am going to be tired, however fit I am.
When you putt do you play for the break or think more about the speed? John
Justin Rose: You need both to make a putt. You need speed and line or it simply won't go in. But the most important thing is the speed. Once you've got that worked out, you begin to see the line. I like to take the high line with the ball dying into the hole on quick greens.

Thinking ahead, are you looking forward to Royal Birkdale,?
and does it hack you off that a some people keep reminding you of the last time you played in the open there and the bad time you had after that tournament,ie all the missed cuts etc,
Erik Erikson, lIVERPOOL, United Kingdom
Justin, what in your opinion does it take to win a Major and why do the Europeans tend to fade away on the last day? Also why do we not see the same European players consistently challenging for the Majors as we do the Americans and players from the rest of the world?
Colin Curryer, Horsham, England
