Click here for our final day report.
2302BST: Campbell is comfortably on the green, and Harrington matches him with a terrific shot to ten feet. Campbell misses his as does Harrington so the American wins 2&1. And that's the end of the action. USA 16½ Europe 11½.
2255BST: So, the final match goes down the 17th with Campbell 2 Up.
2251BST: Curtis on 17 playing his second shot and it's another beauty, dropped to within two feet. Westwood replies with a shot to 17 feet and rolls it to within six inches. Curtis makes his third birdie in four holes to win his match 2&1. USA 15½ Europe 11½
2246BST: On the 16th Harrington hits a lovely approach to try to keep his match alive.
2244BST: Curtis on 16 to win the hole and go dormey two - he leaves it on the high side so Westwood is still 1 Down.
2241BST: Just two matches left on the course now with the points looking like they may be going the way of the USA. Westwood is losing against Curtis while Harrington is trailing Campbell.
2240BST: Cink misses a long putt against McDowell to hand the European a 2&1 victory. USA 14½ Europe 11½
2234BST: Now then, back to the golf - and what an anti-climax these players still out on the course must feel. Poulter has a six-footer for a win and he's done it, beating Stricker 3&2. USA 14½ Europe 10½
2231BST: Faldo said: "We're talking about fractions between these two teams. All congratulations to Paul and his team. There are 24 players here who are tremendous golfers and great guys. Everybody's given 100 per cent. On this particular week they were just that little bit better. I go away happy as I know that I have given everything I could. I take my hat off to the 24 guys. Poulter came out here with the right attitude, strong on the golf course, strong in the team right, strong mental attitude - he's a class act. When we get home we should celebrate. I'm proud of everybody."
2229BST: Amid the excitement, Poulter tries to keep his concentration as does McDowell. Poulter is 3 Up, McDowell 2 Up, Westwood 1 Down and Harrington 1 Down.
2225BST: Azinger said: "I'm so emotional. I've been pretty good up until about a minute ago. We created a 13th man with the crowd. They were unbelievable and well behaved. The golf was amazing and the guys really ground it out. The European team is still a phenomenal team. I evaluated every match and every one was a toss-up. I came in with a plan and we stuck to it. In the end it comes down to putting and heart. Our guys had a lot of heart this week. Tiger Woods kept text messaging me, he was great."
2222BST: Furyk said: "I've been on the other side when Paul McGinley knocked in the putt that won Europe the Ryder Cup so I know how it feels. I feel bad for Miguel because I have respect for him and his game, he is a class act. Paul [Azinger] shook things up. The young players shook things up with the crowd, provided a lot of energy and scored a lot of points, and that's down to Paul for picking them."
2221BST: Faldo goes around consoling his tea, but he must feel pig-sick. Many questions will be asked about his captaincy. This will hurt him.
2219BST: Faldo puts a brave face on it and embraces Azinger. The crowd go mad with exciting, whopping and a-hollering. There are still matches alive but they mean nothing.
2213BST: Jimenez knows the overall result now rests on his shoulders. He's 2 Down with two to play against Furyk and if he loses his match then USA win. Jimenez attacks the pin and does well but Furyk plays it safe and finds the centre of the green. The American putts first and rolls it up to within gimme distance. Jimenez must make his or it's all over ... 20 feet of sheer hell. It's a slippery left to righter. Jimenez focuses, stalks the hole. It's hard to read his face. Like Clint Eastwood. Here it goes ... he's missed, he concedes Furyk's tiddler and that's it - USA WIN THE RYDER CUP! USA 14½ Europe 9½
2205BST: Hansen almost produces the miracle - putting from down in the valley behind the green the ball catches the cup but stays out. He holes the return putt but Holmes has his to win the match 2&1. He nails it and the USA are one point from victory. USA 13½ Europe 9½
2201BST: Hansen overcooks his approach at 17 and flies way through the back leaving himself a near impossible return. Jimenez, meanwhile leaves his birdie effort short while Furyk has a six-footer to halve following his splash out of the bunker. What was I saying about Holmes? There's no point smashing it if you haven't got a short game - well he has. He's left himself a two foot putt. If Furyk holes this one, he wins the match ... but he lips out and Jimenez can breathe again for a few seconds. The Spaniard must knock his is to go down the 17th. He does.
2159BST: Campbell leaves his par putt short on 12 to leave Harrington a putt to win the hole, which he makes. Campbell now just 1 Up.
2157BST: Westwood gets a 3 on 13 to take the lead once more.
2154BST: Holmes winds himself up for another of those enormous drives - and it even foxes the cameraman it's gone so far. It means nothing unless you've got a short game, though.
2152BST: Holmes moves 1 Up on Hansen after 16. This is going to be all over soon and Faldo will have to face the music. At least Westwood is trying to fight back, setting up a birdie chance with a phenomenal shot over water on 13.
2150BST: Weekley said: "This is a dream come true in golf. I've fed off the crowd all week long. This is so unreal."
2145BST: Weekley doffs his cap and bows to the crowd, who have taken the American character to their hearts. Meanwhile, Jimenez needed to make a 30-footer to stay alive and he drains it. That's worth one of his big Stogeys alone. Furyk, though, has a putt to halve ... and he makes it. Furyk is now 3 Up with three to play. Poulter birdies 13 but Stricker matches him to stay 4 Down. Westwood has bogeyed 11 and 12 so he is now all square with Curtis.
2143BST: Wilson plays a brilliant chip but it probably will not be enough as Weekley moves ominously towards anotehr birdie. He has two putts to win his match but he only needs one. Weekley did not drop a shot throughout his 4&2 victory as USA move to withing two points of winning the Ryder Cup. USA 12½ Europe 9½
2140BST: McDowell birdies 13 to go 2 Up against Cink. Harrington has a nasty one to win the 11th. Downhill left to right, but he didn't borrow enough and he remains 2 Down.
2138BST: Furyk makes his par after an awful tee shot on 14 but Jimenez has a birdie chance. Weekley continues his extraordinary golf as he moves towards another point for the USA. Jimenez misses a very gettable putt to leave Furyk 3 Up with four to play.
2136BST: Holmes pushes a nervy one wide on 15 giving Hansen the chance to pull his match back to level. It's four feet but probably looks like 40 feet. Middle of the cup. Back to all square.
2132BST: To make it easier for you, here is where we are at the moment:
United States 11½-9½ Europe
Anthony Kim beat Sergio Garcia 5&4
Hunter Mahan halved with Paul Casey
Justin Leonard lost to Robert Karlsson 5&3
Phil Mickelson lost to Justin Rose 3&2
Kenny Perry beat Henrik Stenson 3&2
Boo Weekley v Oliver Wilson (US 4 up after 14)
JB Holmes v Soren Hansen (US 1 up after 14)
Jim Furyk v Miguel Angel Jimenez (US 3 up after 13)
Stewart Cink v Graeme McDowell (Europe 1 up after 12)
Steve Stricker v Ian Poulter (Europe 3 up after 11)
Ben Curtis v Lee Westwood (Europe 1 up after 11)
Chad Campbell v Padraig Harrington (US 2 up after 10)
2131BST: Jimenez uses the contours of the green on 14 to set up a birdie chance.
2130BST: Weekley has a putt on 15 to win the match against Wilson but it doesn;t turn so he is dormey 3 going down the 16th. It's hard to see where the European points are going to come from now.
2128BST: Perry said: "I'm very emotional. My dad, wife and kid came out onto the green to give me big hugs and I couldn't hold back the tears. It's a magical day."
2126BST: Perry closes out his match in front ofg his own fans, beating Stenson 3&2 to go to within three points of winning the Ryder Cup. And didn't the crowd love that. Now Furyk birdies 13 to move 3 Up over Jimenez. USA 11½ Europe 9½
2124BST: Casey said: "I thought I had a good chance of winning that one and he threw a bomb at me on 17. He played very, very good golf all day and putted better than I did. I felt I played tee to green better than him so a half point is probably fair. He left the door open for me on the last and I took advantage. I've battled my guts out and I'm really annoyed I haven't got a full point this week but the two halves might prove to be important." You're not wrong, Paul.
2120BST: Mahan is playing four out of the bunker - he needs to hole it ... and he almost does. It's a tremendous effort and finishes inches from the hole. But Casey has two putts to win the hole and halve the match. He rolls the first one close enough for Mahan to concede. Half a point each. USA 10½ Europe 9½
2118BST: Casey nails his approach on 18 as Mahan struggles - and the Englishman then takes time out to wave at the TV camera and say hello to his mum. Bless. Meanwhile, Weekley remains 4 Up after 14.
2116BST: Rose said: "I wanted to win that game as quick as possible. I had putts to win the game on 14 and 15. I'm glad it's over, it was a really good battle. Our boys are awesome - they are 10 per cent of the crowd but they are making so much noise out there, they deserve a lot of credit. This is the nearest thing I can think about being a Premier League footballer, the atmosphere is unbelievable."
2114BST: Stricker claws back a hole on Poulter, but the European is still 3 Up. Meanwhile, Mickelson has lined up an outside chance of a birdie. Wilson had gone way wide of the green on 14 but knocks a brilliant recovery to within six feet. And on 16, Rose holes out his birdie putt to beat Mickelson 3&2. Another point for Europe. USA 10 Europe 9.
2112BST: Cink sinks a three-footer on 11 to level up his match with McDowell. Rose is also making life difficult for himself at 16 but he holds his approach on the front of the green. Perry goes 3 Up with three to play against Stenson and Campbell goes 2 Up on Harrington after 9. The swingometer is going red again ...
2107BST: Mahan with the honour on the 18th - he couldn't control his adrenalin and he sprays it into the water. How emotions can change in the space of two shots. So Casey, he must take advantage ... and he does. A cracker straight down the middle.
2106BST: Mickelson wins his first hole of the day with a birdie at 15. He goes back to 3 Down.
2101BST: Rose misses a putt on 15 to win the match, but Mickelson must still make his. Mahan eyes his monster putt from 50 feet. He looks from every angle, he stlks the green, he draws the putter back and gives it a big rap ... and it's in! The biggest putt of the day and what a time to land it. He skips away yelling, punching the air and dancing. The crowd responds in kind. Casey has to follow that in now. He has a big putt of his own to halve the hole ... and he bottled it, leaving it six feet short. Mahan sprints off to the 18th, with more fist-pumping.
2058BST: A big putt from Furyk, he holds his nerve to go 2 Up on Jimenez. Mahan makes a meal of his second on 17 while Casey has to suss out what kind of fly he is going to get out of the first cut. He hit his drive 363 yards. That is gargantuan. The contact is good, he plays it smart and leaves it pin high, 15 feet right of the flag.
2055BST: Casey has hit an enormous drive on 17. So big, in fact, that he has run out of fairway. Mahan follows the line but ends up 40 yards behind his European opponent. That may work in the American's favour. Rose at 15 plays it clever, making Mickelson have to attack the pin. Meanwhile, McDowell misses his eagle putt on 10. Mickelson meets the challenge head on and lands his ball four feet away. McDowell birdies for a half with Cink. Campbell cannot birdie the 8th so he remains 1 Up on Harrington.
2054BST: Karlsson said: "I played really well and didn't give away any bogeys. It looked very red for a little while but I can't do anything about that. It can change very quickly."
2052BST: Perry birdies 13 in front of his hometown fans to move 3 Up over Stenson. The roar is deafening. Leonard misses his putt on 13 and Karlsson closes out the match 5&3 to take Europe to withing two points of the USA. USA 10 Europe 8.
2050BST: Mahan opts to putt from off the back of the green when a chip would normally be the chosen shot. It slides way past. Rose misses the opportunity to close out Mickelson. Casey now with a great chance to square the match under the watchful eye of Nick Faldo. His stroke is straight and true. Casey and Mahan go onto the 17th all square. Mickelson halves the 14th but is still 4 Down to Rose.
2047BST: McDowell slides a terrific fairway wood to ten feet on the par 5 10th, just as Hansen is losing the 11th to Holmes as their match goes back to all square.
2043BST: Mahan kills a 6-iron on the 16th but the ball just trickles off into the apron. Rose keeps his momentum going with a beauty on the 14th. Casey's response to Mahan's approach is an absolute peach. It lands five feet right of the pin and moves just a few inches. This match has taken on great significance now. Casey is 1 Down on 16.
2042BST: Harrington is not firing on all cylinders. He's 2 Down and struggling on the seventh. But he finds the heart of the green with his third shot.
2041BST: Who'd have thought it? Mickelson has just missed another putt to win a hole. And so has Leonard. Both remain 4 Down.
2037BST: Holmes misses for a half putting Hansen 1 Up. The same applies to Cink as McDowell takes a one-hole advantage. All of a sudden things are looking more optimistic for Europe. The latest is: USA 10 Europe 7, USA are up in four of the remaining 11 matches, Europe are up in six and they are all square in one. As things stand, Europe would retain the Ryder Cup.
2034BST: Mahan has a putt to win the hole and sidles it up to the side of the cup. Weekley misses a putt - unbelievable, as Chris Kamara would say. He's still 4 Up on Wilson, though. Casey can get himself out of jail if he can sink this five-footer. It's a confident strike, it circles the rim of the cup and drops. He remains 1 Down.
2033BST: Stenson sets himself up for a birdie with a great second shot at the 12th and makes it to get back to 2 Down.
2031BST: Both Weekley and Wilson have sprayed the pin on the short 14th. Karlsson remains 4 Up with five to play against Leonard. Westwood has gone 2 Up against Curtis after a birdie on 6.
2027BST: Casey on 15 has a bunker shot that must carry water, water and more water. What's more, Mahan is already plum on the green. He decides to go left of the water and long. Casey actually goes through the green and into a bunker and he compounds the error by making a hash of his splash.
2024BST: Weekley for another eagle on 10. He comes up just short but a birdie should be secure. Furyk misses to the right of the cup as Jimenez gets back to all square. McDowell has also levelled up after Cink made a mess of 8. Wilson cannot match Weekley's inspirational golf and goes 4 Down.
2022BST: Mickelson has a birdie chance on 12 and watches as another drifts by. Rose also has a putt for a three, which would take him to 4 Up. No mistake from the Englishman.
2020BST: Mahan and Casey picked up their balls - no point putting from so close - and off they go down the 15th. Casey thinks he has hit a beauty with a driver but the ball is drawn to a bunker on the right side like a magnet.
2019BST: Mahan plays the most fantastic shot on the short 14th, kncking it beyond the hole and allowing the slope to bring the ball back to within a few inches. Casey follows suit with a mirror image of the shot.
2014BST: USA's first winner of the day Kim said: "This is the most exciting day I've ever had. It's the best day of my golfing life by far. I welcomed the choice of Paul Azinger to put me out in the first match." Of the bristling atmosphere between him and Garcia, Kim said: "Sergio and I are great friends, I have a tremendous amount of respect for him but when we're out there we have to do business. Now we can go back to being friends again."
2011BST: Mahan has a putt from off the green to win the 13th but misses. Poulter's great week continues as he goes 3 Up on Stricker after 6. Mickelson is still 3 Down to Rose. Casey misses his putt giving Mahan another chance to win the hole. Furyk goes 1 Up on JImenez after 8. Mahan makes his putt to get back to 1 Up. Campbell goes 1 Up against Harrington after 5.
2010BST: Kim deservedly won that match, his score of eight under for the 14 holes he played is incredible.
2006BST: Mickelson has rattled another putt miles past. He's completely off the boil, which is great news for Rose. Meanwhile, Stenson gets back to 2 Down against Perry. At the 14th, Garcia misses and that's just about it. Kim has a putt for the win and he closes the match out. Kim wins 5&4. Kim doesn't realise the match is over and marches off to the 15th tee before being told what he has done. He and Garcia embrace and the bad feeling ebbs away.
2002BST: Listen to this - the USA are up in four, Europe are now up in four and they are all square in four. It's not looking quite so dismal for the Blues now, is it.
2001BST: Leonard makes a great birdie on 11 but it was only to stay 4 Down to Karlsson. On 8, Hansen gets back to all square against Holmes.
1958BST: Casey sinks a terrific 15-footer to go all square with Mahan. That was vital for him and Europe. Garcia is now five down with five to play. His moodiness is poor - he's asking Kim to putt for six feet. Kim has two putts to win the hole. This is nasty. Meanwhile, Rose misses a birdie putt to win the hole and Curtis misses a par putt to give Westwood a on-hole lead. Mickelson has a 13-footer for a half. It slides past and Rose goes 3 Up.
1954BST: Garcia's recovery is not great - his pitch lands 11 feet away. Meanwhile, Campbell levels up against Harrington with a birdie. It has to be said, apart from the odd shocker such as Garcia, USA are winning this Ryder Cup, rather than Europe throwing it away. Some of the golf has been astonishing with a birdie all over the course.
1951BST: Kim has just played the most amazing 151-yard approach to the island green on 13 to six feet. Garcia is rattled. His bunker shot clears the green - and the water, landing the wrong side of the island.
1948BST: Weekley follows his eagle at 7 with a birdie at 8 to move 3 Up against Wilson. At least Karlsson is doing his bit for Europe, going 4 Up against Leonard after 10.
1946BST: Jimenez wins the 6th bny holing his bunker shot. He's back to all square against Furyk.
1945BST: Casey and Mahan both par the 11th as Casey remains 1 Down.
1943BST: Garcia's return putt goes wide so he concedes to go 4 Down.
1941BST: Garcia with a long, long birdie putt on 12 which he needs to make with Kim only a couple of feet away. He gives it a good rattle but it races past. Weekley is on fire - he's now left himself a tap-in on 8.
1941BST: Harrington makes a birdie on 3, his seond of the day, to go back to 1 Up over Campbell.
1940BST: Weekley from the bunker on the par 5 7th - unbelievable, he's only gone and rolled it straight in. The crowd have gone wild.
1939BST: Poulter makes another birdie to go 3 Up.
1936BST: A quick update on the scores:
3UP A Kim v S Garcia (11)
1UP H Mahan v P Casey (10)
J Leonard v R Karlsson 3UP (9)
P Mickelson v J Rose 2UP (8)
3UP K Perry v H Stenson (8)
1UP B Weekley v O Wilson (6)
2UP JB Holmes v S Hansen (6)
2UP J Furyk v M Jimenez (4)
1UP S Cink v G McDowell (4)
S Stricker v I Poulter 1UP (3)
AS B Curtis v L Westwood (2)
AS C Campbell v P Harrington (2)
1933BST: Mahan makes a great 4 on the par 5 9th. He had to make his birdie putt with Casey almost within gimme range. Casey makes a solid putt to remain 1 Down. Perry goes to the 9th tee 3 Up over Stenson.
1932BST: Karlsson on 9 nails a 10-footer to halve. Harrington bogeys 2 to go back to all square.
1928BST: Garcia missed his birdie putt so now it's Kim's turn. But his ball rolls left at the last moment. Stenson at the 8th is 3 down but finds the centre of the green. Perry's tee shot was weak and is short of the green. Kim makes his two-footer, makes Garcia putt out his 2½-footer ... and the European misses. He then compounds the misery by practising the putt again, which is against the rules. We wait to see what wuill happen. Garcia is 3 down.
1925BST: Mickelson misses his birdie putt by a couple of inches allowing Rose the chance to stay 2 Up.
1921BST: Onto 11, the 206 yard par three. Garcia has the honour and is holding a 7-iron. The breeze might help the players. It's turned out well for Garcia, right of the hole but pin high. On 8, Rose hits his bunker shot to three feet. Back to 11 and Kim ... using a 6-iron, he is bang on line but just fails to get it over the up-slope on the green. Still, the American is in better shape than Garcia. Stenson makes another splash with his second ball on 7. Meanwhile, Hansen goes 2 down to Holmes.
1917BST: Kim has fluffed his pitch on 10 opening the door for Garcia. The Spaniard's touch is immaculate as he pitches to within a foot and wins the hole. Mahan misses out on his birdie allowing Casey a chance on 9 to get back to 1 down - he talkes the chance. Stenson is suffering a horror of horros against Perry as his ball goes for a swim on 7.
1915BST: Mahan is not letting up, peppering the flag on 9. Casey responds with an even better one to two feet. Leonard does almost hole his bunker shot. Almost. So Karlsson goes 3 Up. Mickelson concededs the 7th to let Rose go 2 Up. Harrington completes his birdie on the 1st to win the hole. Westwood does the same on 2 to go back to all square.
1913BST: Rose's third shot on the par five 7th lands three feet from the hole. Padraig Harrington is underway against Chad Campbell with a beauty down the centre of the first and his second to within four feet.
1911BST: Karlsson on 8 plops one to within four inches. A stunning shot. What can Leonard do? Not a great deal - he's in the sand and must sink his bunker shot to halve the hole. It's not going to happen, is it.
1907BST: Leonard mises a putt, finally. It was only a five-footer but Karlsson remains 2 Up. Stewart Cink goes 1 Up on Graeme McDowell after 3. USA are now up in eight and Europe in three.
1905BST: Stenson makes his putt on 6 to claw back a hole, but Lee Westwood loses the 1st to Ben Curtis. Casey goes back to 2 down. This is a shambles for Europe.
1902BST: Mahan nails his tee shot on the par three 8th, leaving him a gimme. Garcia on the 9th misses his birdie putt to the right, while Perry on 6 for par putts in from off the green. Now Kim, to win the 9th and go 4 up ... it teases the face of the hole before turning away.
1900BST: Weekley makes yet another putt to win the 5th against Wilson. Kim whips the gallery into a frenzy with an astonishing approach that pitches towards the back of the 9th and fizzes back to ten feet. Jimenez goes two down after three against Furyk as his 15-footer slips by.
1857BST: The state of play as we stand: USA up in four, Europe up in three, all square in two.
1855BST: Weekley piles the pressure on Wilson by placing his ball on the putting surface. Mahan dribbles his effort wide to give Casey a chance to pull a hole back. Ian Poulter, meanwhile, nails a putt on the 1st to go 1 Up against Steve Stricker. Casey makes his putt to get back to 1 down. This has been a good five minutes for Faldo's team. Perhaps the "oy oy oys" have a bit of magic after all.
1852BST: Rose never threatens the hole on 6 with his putt to win, while Wilson overcooks his approach on 5 and watches in disbelief as the ball bounds through. Mickelson horseshoes to the complete shock of everybody to hand the hole to Rose. It's a rare flash of good news for Europe as Rose goes 1 up.
1849BST: Kim's bunker shot is excellent, finishing thrr feet away. Perry birdies 5 to go three up against Stenson. Kim makes his three for a brilliant up and down. Garcia must make his putt now to win his first hole of the day - he pulls it annd the crowd goes wild. Kim believes this is his day and who would disagree. Casey's recovery is good as he takes on the water and comes out ten feet away.
1846BST: Mahan flies over the water and the back of the green on 6 after a little rumpus between the caddies over who should hit first. Casey is in the wispy grass as he weighs up what to do. He's two down and will be wanting to take advantage of Mahan's miscalculation. Holmes has just birdied 2 to level up his match with Hansen. Casey pulls his effort and lands in the long stuff.
1844BST: Kim makes his first error of judgment as he finds sand on 8 to give Garcia a chance to get back into the match. It's a beauty, landing six feet away from the pin. Meanwhile on hole 4, both Weekley and Wilson make birdie to remain all square. Keep an eye on the live scoreboard on the right to know exactly where the match stands.
1841BST: My grandma, in times of crisis, would shake her head, furrow her brow and mutter "oy, oy, oy" under her breath. It meant nothing but everyone knew how she felt. Now would be a good time for Faldo to take a leaf out of old Grandma Rosie's book. Europe are down in four of the opening singles matches, all square in two and up in two.
1837BST: Shot four for Garcia also finds the water and he goes three down to Kim.
1836BST: Garcia is going at a snail's pace which is getting Kim and the gallery agitated. Perhaps this is a tactic - but it's not a very good one as he finds water on 7.
1833BST: Faldo's world is crumbling as Furyk wins the first to go 1 Up on Miguel Angel Jimenez.
1831BST: Stenson is looking good on 4 as he plops one to within two feet. "Boos" ring out as Weekley makes his birdie on 3 to level up his match with Wilson. Back on 4 and Perry matches Stenson's shot.
1829BST: Weekley and Wilson find the putting surface on the par 3 third. On 6, Casey makes another bad swing. He is suffering. Jim Furyk gets underway with a tremendous second on 1 which sidles up to within seven feet. Wilson on 3 for birdie from 18 feet ... shaves the edge of the cup and stays up.
1826BST: Leonard misses his birdie putt on 5. Meanwhile, on 6 Mahan has 208 to the pin after waiting an age for the Kim-Garcia match to get a move-on. He doesn't like it - and nor should he as Mahan pulls it into a greenside bunker. Karlsson pushes his birdie attempt on 5 to remain 1 Up.
1825BST: Perry drains a 20-footer for a two on 3 to go 2 Up over Stenson. Kim also wins his hole to go 2 Up.
1822BST: On 6, Kim rolls his ball to within three feet while Garcia has an eight-footer four par to halve the hole after an amazing 7-iron - which would be a miracle given the trouble he was in. This isn't dead, though. It's downhill, right to left and slippery. Garcia is rightly taking his time. But he slides his putt wide right. On 2, Wilson goes 1 Up against Weekley. Garcia putts out, leaving Kim a three-footer to win the hole.
1817BST: A recap (US players first):
1 Up Anthony Kim v Sergio Garcia (5)
2 up Hunter Mahan v Paul Casey (5)
Justin Leonard v Robert Karlsson 1 Up (4)
A/S Phil Mickelson v Justin Rose (2)
1 Up Kenny Perry v Henrik Stenson (2)
A/S Boo Weekley v Oliver Wilson (1)
1815BST: Rose halves the 3rd with Mickelson while Mahan makes his four-footer to go 2 up on Casey. In the meantime, Perry goes 1 up over Stenson after 2. It's not looking great for Europe just at the moment.
1814BST: Garcia is in all sorts of trouble as John Paramour, the match referee, and Kim take a good look at what faces him. Casey takes a 5 to leave Mahan a putt to win the hole.
1812BST: Drive for show, putt for dough. Never has a cliche been so true for Casey. He is making a complete Horlicks of the 5th after that massive tee shot. Meanwhile, Leonard misses his putt giving Karlsson the hole to go 1 up.
1811BST: Now then, Garcia. He's found his ball but it's in the long grass and he really has no shot other than to chip out. Kim played it safe and laid up short. Perhaps an old head on those young shoulders. The breeze is picking up but that doesn't faze Kim. He finds the green but cannot hold it close as it it taken by the slope to the back right.
1809BST: Casey has smashed his drive on 5 over 300 yards. His second stops off the back of the green on a downslope. A very fortunate break for a very poor shot. On 4, Karlsson knocks his second to within 12 inches. Brilliant.
1807BST: Oliver Wilson is off and underway for Europe, missing his birdie putt on 1 by an inch. Garcia uses a fairway metal off the tee on 6 but belts it too far and that could be trouble, possibly even wet. Boo Weekley halves the first with Wilson and stokes the crowd up into a "boo ess ay" friendly.
1803BST: Garcia makes no mistake with his return as Kim remains 1 up.
1802BST: Leonard pulss his putt on the 3rd and lips out as Karlsson escapes.
1801BST: Kim's uphill 20-footer finishes short, giving Garcia a chance to win the hole. Meanwhile, Mickelson lets Rose off the hook by missing his putt. Garcia drew a 9-iron 167 yards to set up this chance ... it misses on the low side by a good three feet - not clever.
1759BST: Garcia says to Kim: "Anything you can do, I can do better", or whatever the Spanish equivalent is as he sets up his own birdie chance. Rose plays a fantastic trap shot to within two feet and Mahan goes 1 up against Casey.
1758BST: Rose hits his approach on 2 a little heavy and dives into a bunker. Advantage Mickelson. Casey chunks his chip on 4. Perry and Stenson both make birdie on the 1st.
1757BST: On 2, Mickelson sets up a birdie chance with a brilliant approach. Meanwhile, Kim finds the centre of the green on 5.
1756BST: Soren Hansen's caddy has slipped a disc picking up his bag. Billy Foster covers for him.
1752BST: Sky go to the adverts which gives me time to catch my breath and round up the scores so far (US players first):
1 up Anthony Kim v Sergio Garcia
A/S Hunter Mahan v Paul Casey
A/S Justin Leonard v Robert Karlsson
A/S Phil Mickelson v Justin Rose
1751BST: Karlsson misses his putt to win the hole, but Leonard has five feet for a half. It's "one of those". You wouldn't like it in your club competition. Leonard feels no pressure, though. He is a man of steel. He finds the bottom of the cup.
1749BST: Casey has a putt to go one-up but looks a little tentative and can only make par. Kim matches Garcia's approach and makes it three birdies from the first four holes.
1747BST: Kenny Perry and Henrik Stenson prepare to get going. Stenson leads the way with a tremendous fairway-splitter. Perry follows suit with an enormous effort down the middle, thanks to a little bump off the shoulder of the left rough.
1745BST: On the 1st green, Rose and Mickelson size up their respective birdie putts. It's Rose to go first - so I was obviously a little blinkered on his approach. He leaves it two inches short. On 4, Garcia, who is one down to Kim, flips a beauty from the semi-rough to two feet. Now Mickelson on the 1st ... it's a great roll but it stays up. All square.
1744BST: Leonard on the second tee runs out of fairway but the rough is forgiving.
1743BST: Mahan's tee shot on 3 is poor, it drops short right and may be wet - we'll have to wait and see. Casey takes no chances and drops it ten feet from the pin.
1740BST: Back to the first fairway and it's Rose to shoot first. He has a lovely posture, picture perfect. His shot goes right over he top of the flag after turning it in from right to left. He has eight feet for a birdie. Mickelson starts his right, cuts it amd watches as it rolls 12 feet by.
1739BST: Casey and Mahan remain all square with a half.
1738BST: Kim plays his bunker shot to within three feet while Leonard misses his birdie putt on 1 so he's all square with Karlsson. Garcia's birdie attempt shaves the hole while Kim completes his up and down to remain one down.
1737BST: Rose finds the fairway on 1, Mickelson just leaks his right into the rough. The annoying chant of "you ess ay" roars up.
1736BST: Karlsson's bunker shot is beautiful - he almosty holes it. Mahan, meanwhile, sets up a birdie on 2.
1733BST: Match four is about to get going. It's the big one - Phil Mickelson against Justin Rose. Mickelson looked slightly jaded yesterday, the European No 1 must sense his opportunity. This pairing is bound to produce some fireworks.
1732BST: Kim pulls his tee shot on 3, finding sand. He asks the wind for intervention. It doesn't listen. Garcis goes with a seven-iron on the 201-tard par three and drops it delicately on the dancefloor, 13 feet from the flag.
1730BST: Leonard hangs his approach out right but finds the target. Karlsson shows a sign of nerves as he pulls it straight into the greenside bunker.
1729BST: Kim is taking his time over his putt, this to win the hole - and he nails it. Kim 1 up after 2.
1728BST: Mahan pushes his second putt so Casey goes 1 up after 1.
1727BST: Casey misses his birdie putt while Garcia leaves his attempt at 2 short.
1724BST: Match three gets underway with Robert Karlsson taking on Justin Leonard. Karlsson to hit first (by the way, the visiting team always have the honour on the singles, hence Europe's players going first every time). Karlsson goes down the right side of the fairway, with the ball just trickling into the second cut. No problems there. Leonard draws his around short but sweet as it settles in the centre of the fairway.
1723BST: Kim is playing darts, not golf. His approach on 2 is a carbon copy of his shot on 1 - he has an easy birdie opportunity to put the early pressure on Garcia.
1722BST: Garcia's lie is not great. The ball is above his feet and has sat down. But he hits a decent shot from 112 yards which leaves him a long putt for birdie. Meanwhile on 1, Maha finds a great line but just whizzes his first putt four feet past.
1720BST: Kim's drive that follows Garcia is in the ideal spot on the left of the 2nd fairway.
1719BST: Garcia on 2. He's asking for the ball to get up - and it does. Down the left hand side, just into the rough. Back on the 1st, Mahan seems to have got his sums wrong and has found the green but left it way short of the flag. Casey absolutely crushed his drive and dinks his approach pin high, 12 feet to the left.
1713BST: Next up on the 1st, Paul Casey and Hunter Mahan. Casey, one of Faldo's picks, to hit first. He's got the big boy out ... and blasts it down the right side of the fairway. Mahan also out with the driver is slightly wider right, finding the rough, but no real problems.
1712BST: Garcia to putt first. How's your nerve, Sergio? Steady as a rock as he finds the centre of the cup and then picks up Kim's marker as a concession. All square after 1
1708BST: Kim to hit his second shot first from the right centre of the fairway, 147 yards, slightly downhill. Bang on line and he sticks it three feet from the pin. Outstanding approach. Ah, the exuberance of youth. Follow that Sergio ... 129 yards. He goes through his usual fidgety routine but steps back as an insect distracts him. He settles again ... and he pitches it inside Kim's. A little back spin takes it back a bit but only to about 3½ feet.
1703BST: The match announcer gets proceedings underway. Garcia's name is met with a cheer. Kim's is met with a roar. It's Garcia to tee off first ... 448 yards, dog leg right to left and he nails it down the left side of the fairway asnd let's it curl round with the contours.. Now Kim ... BOOM! A fantastic shot, opening up the green with his placement to the right side of the opening fairway. We're off and underway.
1700BST: Garcia has a smile on his face as wide as the Mediterranean. Is he mad? Is this false courage? Kim, too, looks relaxed and ready. Sporting brilliance is about to take place. Just to set the scene, the sun is shining, there is hardly a wisp of breeze ruffling the leaves on the trees. It's perfect.
1657BST: Sergio Garcia and Anthony Kim make their way onto the first tee. Can you imagine what they are feeling inside? How rubbery their legs must feel right at this moment? Millions of people around the world all focusing on them. Please don't duck-hook it, either of you. If there was a sofa in the office I would be hiding behind it.
1638BST: The nerves are jangling with less than half an hour to go. The players are on the range getting their feel. Nick Faldo, speaking as he arrived at Valhalla, said: "I'm excited, this is win or lose day. The guys are on their own today, they've got to look after themselves, which they are more than capable of doing. It's time to get the blinkers on and get ready to go." For me, it's time to get the kettle on and get ready to stay. Until about midnight.

The compelling drama served up by the 37th Ryder Cup hasn't wavered for a moment, and it will reach an enthralling climax this evening when the Sunday's singles get underway shortly after 5pm.
The final day is intriguingly poised with Europe needing seven points to claim an unprecedented fourth successive Ryder Cup triumph while the US need 5½ points for victory. After a close and combative afternoon of fourballs yesterday - so close that three of the four went to the final hole - the match is now beautifully poised.
Europe went into yesterday three points adrift of the US. Now they are two points behind.
It is the first time that Europe have been behind going into the singles since Oakhill in 1995, when Faldo played a crucial role in helping Europe overcome their 9-7 deficit and retain the trophy.
Faldo has taken the bold step of holding Lee Westwood and Padraig Harrington back until the last two singles matches. Is that a wise decision? Only time will tell.
Sergio Garcia, so often Europe's talisman, gets things going against the USA's rising star Anthony Kim in the first match at 1703BST.
We will bring you every swing, every divot, every putt and guide you all the way to the end of what promises to be a fascinating final day's play.
