Cuban awaits the challenge of Amir Khan

Amir Khan faced one Cuban, Mario Kindelán, in an Olympic final; he may have to face another if he is to become world champion as a professional. Khan boxes Martin Kristjansen in an eliminator for the WBO lightweight title in Bolton on April 5. Joel Casamayor, 36, became the WBO's interim champion in yesterday's early hours by stopping Michael Katsidis, of Australia, in California, after being knocked out of the ring in the sixth. Casamayor, who beat Wayne McCullough in an Olympic final in Barcelona in 1992, knocked down Katsidis in the tenth round to force the stoppage.
