Liam Tancock and Rebecca Adlington claim golds

Liam Tancock and Rebecca Adlington stormed to gold medals while Kate Haywood and the men's 4x200m freestyle relay team won silvers for Great Britain at the World short-course Championships in Manchester last night. Tancock claimed the host nation's first gold medal with a 50.14sec victory in the 100 metres backstroke that was the second-fastest time ever, shattering the European, Commonwealth and British records.

Adlington finished the 800m freestyle in a time of 8min 08.25sec, only 0.25sec shy of the world record. Haywood and Kate Katsoulis, of Australia, finished with joint silver medals behind Jessica Hardy, of the United States, who shattered the world record in the 50metres breaststroke in 29.58sec. Yulia Efimova, of Russia, finished second with 30.22sec, only to be disqualified for a false start.

In the relay, Robbie Renwick, David Carry, Andrew Hunter and Ross Davenport set a European record of 6:56.56 in finishing second to Australia.

I expect both of these two to win olympic gold
