Scott Harrison, the former WBO featherweight champion, has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving. The 30-year-old was stopped by police in his car in Ferniegair, Lanarkshire, on April 22. He was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and taken to nearby Hamilton police station for questioning.

A Strathclyde Police spokeswoman said: "A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an alleged road traffic offence on Tuesday, April 22. Inquiries are ongoing."

The Scottish Sun reported that Harrison, from Cambuslang near Glasgow, had a 15-year-old girl in the car with him when he was stopped. Strathclyde Police confirmed there had been a girl in the car, but did not give more details.

The Scot has battled alcohol problems in the past two years and recently returned to the gym to resume his boxing career. Last month, Harrison accused the British Boxing Board of Control of conducting a "witch hunt" against him over their failure to re-issue him with a licence to fight.
