What did you make of this morning's proceedings?
Well, we're obviously not going to get a decision until tomorrow, but it was an interesting morning.
Dwain Chambers' case revolves around a restraint of trade and his legal team
made a strong point, but the BOA came back with pretty strong arguments of
their own, saying that they should be able to pick someone who is a good
example to the sporting youth of the country, regardless of performance.
How will the decision to delay the verdict affect the announcement of the
Great Britain team on Saturday?
The team will still be selected on Saturday.
The fact that it has come to this late stage will only work in the BOA's
favour. The court will frown upon the fact that Chambers has brought this
case now, when he finished his ban in 2005 and he could have done this any
time in the last four years.
The consensus is that he's probably in a bit of trouble, if he wasn't already.
Did this morning's proceedings give you any clues as to which way the verdict might go?
I would say it is leaning towards the BOA getting the decision.
They both made pretty decent arguments. Jonathan Crystal, who represents Chambers, went up first, but the BOA had the advantage of being able to pull holes in what had already been said.
Are there any other factors that might sway the verdict?
The IOC have produced a rule that means anyone found guilty of a doping
offence must not only serve a ban, but must also miss the following
Olympics.
Chambers' argument is that you can't be punished twice for the same crime, but
everyone will be subject to that rule from now on. So in theory you could
serve a two-year ban and still be prevented from competing in the Olympics
for another two years.
That's a key law that I think will come out in the BOA's favour.

Isn't the restraint of trade argument the same that allows Uri Geller to sue anyone who says he doesn't really have magical psychic powers?
